By golly I think you're right. It might explain why I'm having normal winters again with lots of snow.

We call these lakes controlled by dams but they are merely the banks of the river that once flowed through not that long ago.

But man damned the once bigger river and dredged this in it's place after the dams were built.

Green Energy?

Snow ≠ Cold. Record Snow in Eastern US. Heat Wave Continues over Hudson Bay.

NOAA’s Earth System Research Lab image continues to show a heat wave over northern Canada, Hudson Bay, and Greenland. Meanwhile, much of the US is average, or even above in much of the midwest.

Several other areas, set new snowfall records. Yet, as Capital Climate points out:
January 13, 2 am Update: Note that through the first 11 days of the month, there had been only 2 days with below-average temperatures at Hartford. The 12th, on which the snowfall record was set, was 1° below average. The month so far is 2.2° above average.
In other words, get used to it. This is what snowfall events will be like more and more often, in the areas that get snow. More warmth in the atmosphere = more moisture = greater precipitation events, like the current disaster down under.

2010 Water Levels

Conditions were looking drought-like in the spring of 2010. In fact, Manitoba Hydro received calls early in the summer from lake users who wanted the lake level to be increased.

Over the summer, however, precipitation was heavy and inflows into Lake Winnipeg increased dramatically.
Manitoba Hydro's control facility at Jenpeg has been at maximum discharge since July 1. Lake levels would have been up to 60 cm (2 feet) higher going into the October storm, but Jenpeg discharged an extra 30 to 50 per cent over the summer.

Despite the increased outflow capacity, Lake Winnipeg is about 48 cm (1.6 feet) above the long-term average for this time of year simply because more precipitation fell and flowed into the lake than could flow out of it.

It's flooed like that before? Then what is the big fuss and what does it have to do with CO2?

Well, it's like this... We never had the phrase "climate change" or "global warming" in the past, all we had was climate normalcy. Now that we have these new words, the problem is obvious.

It's kinda like tidal action. Before it was recognized by mankind, it didn't exist.

Define past....the science of global warming isn't new.

I'm not sure that eleven days is quite enough to give an accurate indication of a climate trend.

If you feel I am wasting your time just say so and I will stop responding to you.

Just a friendly reminder to leave the goal posts in place.

That said, you wanted a "marker" for when the discussion (in terms of the past) should begin; how about the time where the lobby groups declared (unilaterally) that AGW was fact and caused by CO2.

Which was when?
