Sorry for the OT Leaf post in the Canuck thread, Canucks fans.
On paper the Canucks should be able to get around the Leafs but who knows, the Leafs might reach down and find some heretofore unknown strength and beat the Vancouver team. I don't think they will. Back in the days of Frank Mahovolich and Dave Keon and Tim Horton, I was a Leaf fan but not for quite a few years now.
I have nothing against the Leafs as an organization or group of players (or fans for that matter) but I really can't stand Burke. What I dislike about him is he's not only a poor loser he's a poor winner. When he has success he sticks his nose in the air and struts around ensuring he is properly addressed as the reason for the success. His shtick is to look like he's smarter than everyone. Of course, when they lose it's everyone's fault but his own.
Rick, the Leafs look like the Canucks did about a year or so ago. They seem to have team speed but when they go into a full court press, their defense can't keep up.If the leafs played with that effort every game they'd win their share. In the end Luongo was the difference. Yes, nice to see Kesler putting some in the net.
The Toronto sports media are going crazy these days. Did anyone watch that simulcast radio of the Fan 590 (or whatever it's called) the other day? I can't remember his name, is it Cown? I don't really like the guy but it was funning seeing him at the end of his Leafs rope. He wanted to know who the second worst team in the league was. Someone said calgary. Then he wanted to know if both cities could trade cities in a 100% team trade.
Didn't the Canucks miss the playoffs in 2008?toronto look more like the canucks from way way back, as the canucks haven't been as bad as
toronto is now, for many years.
canucks had a very good year last season, started slow, gained thru the season, and won the division.
they were second in goals scored for the season, behind washington.
lost to chicago in second round, but chicago was the better team, and we must remember, canucks had
lots of defense injuries, (out of lineup), made a difference.
toronto started like gang busters, for a few games, then packed it in, not even the quarter turn yet.
not sure which team is worse right now, calgary or toronto, will be interesting when they play each
other. calgary do have some of toronto's players from the trade last season, doesn't seem to be doing
much to help them.
has anyone seen a sutter smile lately, or ever? lol
yeah, luongo shut the door last night in the third, and locked it.

Right now the Canucks are in third place over all in the NHL. I can see them getting to first place over all but how they will end the season in the Spring is anybody's guess. A couple bad injuries to important players would hurt them like any other team.2005-06 and 2007-08
I don't think the 'Nucks are as good as some people believe. They'll finish high in the standing simply because of the weak division they play in. A Stanley Cup parade in Vancouver is highly unlikely next spring.

If everybody stays healthy, the Canucks could surprise quite a few teams.
Can't quite agree they are in a weak division.
I'd say there's no doubt the South east are a weak division
