Would the Palin-bashing yahooes (and it is no secret who they are) be just as cocky on November 3rd, and especially a couple years from now?

"Is politics worth making enemies over?"

I consider nobody on this forum my friend or my enemy, but I concede that I like some better than some others.

So far, I declared NOBODY my enemy, based on politics, while I have been called quite a few uncomplimentary monickers by those whom I would consider for the honour.

But on the whole, you are right! Life is too short, at least at my age.

Seriously, I wonder what we would really think if she managed to win in 2012? I personally prefer Lieutenant Colonel Allen West if he makes it to the Senate next month, much better Presidential candidate than anyone so far. (Dem. or Rep.)

ironsides, with all due respect, Americans have lowered the bar to unprecedented low level by electing the most unqualified and most undeserving person for the high and previously revered office of the President of the United States, by electing Barack Hussain Obama.

Admittedly, there were mistakes in history: Woodrow Wilson. Jimmy Carter.

Please, try not to make the same mistake in 2012.

I have met Col. West, and as far as new blood is concerned, he is more than qualified to be President, far more than Obama could ever hope to be. But one step at a time, first we have to get him into the Senate, and hopefully other states will dump the Democrats they now have, especially those who rubber stamp the current policy.

ironsdes, once again with all due respect:

Why would Col, Allen West need to be a United States Senator? You have former U.S. Senator occupying your White House now!

Let'see:

George Walker Bush was never a Senator.
William Jefferson Clinton was never a Senator.
George Herbert Walker Bush was never a Senator.
Ronald Wilson Reagan was never a Senator.
Jimmy Earl Carter was never a Senator.
Gerald Randolph Ford was never a Senator.
Richard Milhaus Nixon was never a Senator.
Lyndon Baines Johnson was naver a Senator.
Dwight David Eisenhower was never a Senator.

John Fitzgerald Kennedy WAS.

Prior to them only Harry s. Truman and Benjamin Harrison were United States Senators. I got tired of research going back in history before them.

The lesson is that the most spectacular failures as Presidents were those who served as United States Senators, and the most successful ones were those who served as State Governors.

You didn't have to research if they were a senator or not, others may have and were nationally popular in their own right. He is a relatively unknown and has to prove himself to the people and the party first. It would be like me running, who ever heard of me outside my own little circle.

Sarah Palin, is a comedy show and nothing more. She has the
support of some but in no way the majority. By the time the next
election comes around the Republicans will find someone out
there that has a chance. She always reminds me of Mike from
Canmore, on the Air Farce, some years ago.
Maybe she could team up with Christine the witch.
At present the Republicans look like a group going to a
Halloween party.

Non the less, she is still a very powerful women. No, I do not think she will ever become President and if the Rep. nominate her, they will lose.

I don't understand why all the republican lovers only zero in on palin, what about
her competetors, whom she will have to run against to win the spot.
I'm sure there will be a few who will make her look like the fool she is, and the
religious nut that she is, or, I should say she is sucking up to the fundamentalist
christians to get votes, but all the republicans will do that.

damngrumpy, it is a crying shame that someone of your advanced years has not accumulated even a shred of common sense. Pity that someone your age is still beholden to the marxist/communist/liberal nonsense, once again proving the wisdom of the words of Sir Winston Churchill, that those under the age of 21 years who are not liberal haven't got a heart and those over the age of 21 years who are still liberal, have not got a brain.

More than pitying you, I pity your grandchildren.

I see some have run out of points to make, and to get
attention they resort to personal condemnation of ones
beliefs. There is a difference between challenging one
another to present a good argument for their position
and making personal statements about even ones grand
children. No bother it shows someone is out of points to
make and that is sad. I would really like to know how one
could support Palin with a straight face, when even God
is laughing. The fact is the Republicans made a hell of
mess, during their eight years in office and the rest of
the country is trying to clean up the mess. It will take a
long time. In Saskatchewan, some years ago there was
a conservative premier named Grant Divine. He piled
up a deficit of something like 22 billion in nine years.
Roy Romanow took well over a decade to clean up
that mess. The same holds true here. Most people
don't even know the size of the meltdown.
Had they not bailed out the people they did, the derivative
markets would have claimed their money which is
measured in the trillions not billions.
Palin wants to go back to a simpler time that in reality
never did exist. Palin wants to return to the Bush era
and if that were to happen, America will end up worse off
than Greece. I ask who could support her with a straight
face? The only thing worse is that she had Anne Coulter
for a running mate. As for my grand kids, the older ones
all have jobs and they participate in there community.
Farm families tend to do that. You may have noticed,
I did not once name the individual, that is because it
wasn't worth a name mention.
