there are some soldiers who go and want to defend the idealisms of Democracy and Freedom. that's fine.

then... there are some soldiers who's sole purpose for joining the military is a selfish reason, so they can go shoot someone! that's pathetic.

Soldiers join knowing that they may be called upon to kill - they deal with this in a number of ways - civvies who have no experience would call them pathetic - they use black humor - same as when we lose one of our own - we grieve mostly in silence - use black humor to deal with it - and people perhaps yourself overhearing this would construe this as a pathetic and sick way of dealing with a death -

Well that is what we do - We are in the business of making the other MFkr die for his cause. So we use different things to deal with that.

As to the ones that join to kill for the sake of killing - they may talk like that around civvies - but if they brought that attitude forward amongst their peers "that they joined just to kill people for the thrill or fun of it" - They are on their way out of the Army and really fast. They are a freaking hazard to every soldier they are on tour with. Guess that may not have been considered so I will give you the benefit of the doubt.

I hope this clarifies your misconception that the Army is looking for wackos to serve.

Agreed. One friend told me of a neighbour's son who joined the military 'to shoot myself an Arab'. Those were his exact words she told me.

The down side to this is when you shoot at someone they usually shoot back. So I'm not sure if too many people sign up for that specific reason.

Those types don't think of that when they join. They just think of Ramo flicks and figure they'll be invincile just like him.

Not all soldiers of course, but the specific kind we're referring to here, the gung ho type.

Their fathers and mothers spat on military personnel returning from Viet Nam. They screamed "baby killers" at them.

And now, these misbegotten, ungrateful pieces of human garbage would like to nothing more than do the same.

The mood of the country, at least for the time being, is honouring the veterans.

But if the liberals have their way, it will be 1975 over again.

How many do you know that joined up to kill people? I personally know no one who did that, I did hear of a few incidents of soldiers cracking under the pressure and randomly killed people, but they were quickly dealt with.

Sometimes you can tell when a Soldier is on the edge - Mostly - Not - But you never give any credit to the Soldier who walks in and says I need help - or would you ever make a positive comment about a Soldier -

You would never make a positive comment about the Soldiers that risked their lives to rescue injured civilians form mines - IED's - Enemy Fire - and many were seriously injured or killed - or would you ever make a positive comment about a Soldier? -

They do not fit your profile so those actions would not be considered by you? Or would they?

A German Soldier - And the point is?

Nah...he's a Yank and that Yank is going to jail...forever.

When you really get down to it, it was 90,000 pages of stuff we pretty much knew. It confirmed some things like Pakistan playing both sides of the fence but no really new revelations.

Now Bradley is going to spend the rest of his life in jail. Let's ask the lad in 5 years if it was worth it.

Life in jail for telling the public what they already knew? (not surprising since its become common practice to be jailed indefinitely in the US without trial)

The US gov have been exposed to the world as the lying, deceitful criminals they are. The line that `troops *dupes* on the ground may be in danger` due to this leak is nonsense....though one would hope that was the case given the only good US troop is a dead US troop, in the eyes of most of the world.

You yellow-bellies (including congress and the entire US military brass) have been exposed for acts of cowardice and crimes hidden from the public eye till now and it`s eating them alive, from the inside out.

That in it`s self is worth any term in jail, including death.

Hey did you come home and find your girl's ankles next to a serviceman's ears?

Jail. Life imprisonment. After his trial of course.

No, for breaching the terms of service and the law.

But I'm sure that won't matter to someone like yourself. The only time you care about the law, is when it's something that you support.

Yeah...you're kind of in trouble when you post classified material on the internet.

I hope young Bradley felt strong about it, he sure is going to have a lifetime to reflect upon it!

Well, petros, NAME THEM!

Unless and until you do, and back it up with facts, this post of yours should be and WILL be considered nothing but a rant of a classless, hate-filled idiot.
