It is going to be another long year for Lions' QB's. I have added myself to the QB depth chart (in case the first 17 end up on injured reserve).

Oooooooooh, how exciting, Kreskin  I will look forward to your debut! ;-)

I missed the reaming out thing. Looked to me like a 'built' team playing against a 'rebuild' team, sask.
looked very solid and confident. Lions O line didn't protect their q back much at all, everytime they
made adjustment, sask re adjusted and fooled them again.

Yeah Geroy looked good tonight, and lulay got some playing time, although he got sacked a few times, he
did manage to make a few nice plays.

Teams have 'their' time, and now it belongs to sask, and montreal, lets see how long it takes for someone
to knock them down, it all goes in ebbs and flows, that's sports for ya.

good game ruffys, you deserved the win.

We are only in the opening weeks of the season and so much can happen as we have often seen in the CFL. Gaia forbid anything happens to the main guys on our team. Injuries can change things overnight.

Though I don't really care for the Lions coach........he is the 'winningest' coach in the CFL! If anyone can turn things around for the Lions, he most certainly can.

It would be nice to believe that this is Saskatchewan's 'moment', especially as we are celebrating 100 years of Rider Pride this year. But there are many worthy teams this year. Sure they have a few kinks to work out, but once they do - look out! We may have beaten Montreal the first time, but with Anthony at the helm and the powerhouse play of his receivers, the awesome defense the team can mount, and the coaching ability of Mark Trestman........well, we may not be so lucky next time.

I love the CFL because you simply can't predict what is going to happen this early in the year. Gives me something to look forward to every single week of the season.

Will be catching the forum up on the Montreal vs Edmonton game later. Thanks for the nod to our team, talloola.

it will be interesting now to watch a team like the lions, who have been the front runners for a long time,
(till last season), but now have a young team, and see how they can build and improve throughout the season.
I remember them being so strong all season, but other teams have been building and slowly caught up, that
is so fun to watch, the building and improving.
I never was comfortable as a front runner from day one, it just seems too hard to maintain that level of
play right through, I like it better when my team stays in the middle of the pack and begins to peak toward
the end of the season and through playoffs.
I'll have to send buono a note with my request, I'm sure he will appreciate it. lol lol

I like buono lots, I hear him on the radio almost on a daily basis being interviewed, and I can't find
anything about him thats 'not' to like. He is very fair, very friendly to all the media, and one of the
smartest coaches.

That error committed in last game where he reamed his player out, was a very costly and stupid error, a
unforced error at a very crucial time. I don't blame him, and he isn't watching to see if the camera
is on him, it is a spontaneous reaction, and I understand it, it was dumb on the players part.

I was watching the Calgary-Toronto match on justin.tv and many Yanks posted very positive remarks about the game and the league. Yes, CFL is fun and it is so good to be able to watch it, for FREE! :)

Listening to him on radio, one can tell he's a pretty grounded guy. When things go well he doesn't get too excited, and when things don't go well he doesn't get too down. Yet, although he seemed to be loyal to Dickensen, he isn't with most others. If a guy doesn't pull his weight he's on the bench (or on the street) in a heartbeat.

That's great that you're able to catch some games.

absolutely, I love it, and I also like that trait in vineault, it is a fresh change from crawford who
played bertuzzi so much, when he was a 'drag ass', and should have seen reduced ice-time.

Although I really like printers, I was hoping lulay would get a chance to quarter-back a complete game this
friday, but looks like printers will be good to go.

Seems lions have a few injuries.

I was glad to see the pace picked up in the second half after a mostly defensive game in the first.

The Argos, under their new coach, Jim Barker, are looking like a much improved team over last year. Cleo Lemon, Chad Owens, Cory Boyd, and Kevin Eiben really stood out last night.

Burris had a few problems but he is a vet and the fact that the Stamps were on the road all this week probably contributed to their somewhat lacklustre performance. They are more than capable of coming back after a bit of a rest. That unnecessary roughness call against Reynolds was really an anomaly, IMHO. Penalties and turnovers also hurt the Stamps - again, maybe it was fatigue.

Saskatchewan is top of the league in the West.........for now. ;-)

Looking forward to Friday night's double header.

Did we win what is arguably one of the most important games of the season for the fans? Yep. Was it easy? Nope. Were we hot? Not particularly. Did we take advantage when we could – yeah once we finally started playing ball. Did we have one of the gustiest plays in the league this week – you betcha. That reverse in the end zone off Fantuz to Baggs for the big first down is my nominee for Play of the Week.

Today we celebrated 100 Years of Rider football. This game was an important emotional win for Sask fans.

Sask will be rockin’ tonight, well deservedly.

Thank you, Riders.

The Riders were dressed as Stampeders. What's with those ugly uni's?

The Lions look awful, especially Printers.

thought the defense looked good, but I agree about printers, he looks tentative, takes too long, not acting
instinctively, but the whole offense needs more tuning and time together and more coaching, they will get
better. I want to see lulay get a game for himself. Someone said on the announcing of the game, that at
their training camp he outplayed printers.

The uniforms were retros to celebrate the centennial of the team - one time deal, thankfully as I thought they were awful too. Apparently, the team gave the jerseys away to season ticket holders after the game.

A sell-out crowd at the newly renovated Percival Molson Memorial stadium in Montreal cheered their team to a 37 – 14 win over the Hamilton Ti-Cats last night. The Als also broke their TD drought, scoring 2 in the game. However, most of the points scored by Montreal came off the foot of Duval who after a shaky start this season, finally got the ball between the uprights for a total of seven field goals.

Hamilton on the other hand, looked like the lost boys for a good part of the game. Kevin Glenn had a hard time connecting with his receivers and in return his receivers had a hard time catching the ball. The Ti-Cat defense looked strong in the first two quarters and sacked Calvillo twice during the game but was less than effective during the latter part of the game.

Montreal continues to struggle with costly penalties and have the dubious honor of toping the standings for pass interference calls – which at a minimum of 15 yards a pop, could cost them future games against a more prepared team.

Hamilton finally put their back-up QB, Quentin Porter into the game during the fourth quarter. He managed to put the only TD on the board for Hamilton but also threw a costly interception.

Final Score: Montreal 37 – Hamilton 14

The Lions travel to Toronto to take on the Argonauts at 4:30 pm PST on TSN this afternoon.

i'm looking forward to seeing lulay get his first game. he needs a big chance this year, I think he
has so much potential, and the time is up for him taking a back seat to anyone. hope he has a good
game, he doesn't need to win all by himself, the team must support him.

if he continues to play more games and does very well, then he needs his own team, it's time for
him to spread his wings and fly on his own.

good luck to lulay and the lions tonight.

I hope he gets some more protection, & is treated like the asset that he is,
unlike the constant pounding he took in the last game against the Riders...

well lulay had a good game, made a couple of mistakes toward the end of the game, but if his
receivers had of caught the throws earlier on, it wouldn't have made such a difference.

toronto didn't have much of a game at all, except toward the end.

The Lions-Argos game turned out to be the Lulay-Lemon show with both teams trying to find a way to lose. In the end it was the Lions showing they are masters of the inept.
