Just saw an ad that said, explicitly...

BP takes full responsibility for beach cleanup.

According to this channel, as soon as a dirty beach is found, they will mobilize a team, and clean that beach. I wanted to post this thread so that we have some reference back in the future... did they meet that claim? Did it mobilize beyond their media team?

From what I see on the news, it would seem they are going all out to mitigate the damage, whether it will be enough only time will tell.

My sister was just in Florida and volunteered for an afternoon to go and pick up oil globules from a beach down there. She was not allowed to take a camera or cell phone with her. Aside from the obvious question of "what are they trying to hide", one has to wonder how BP can be allowed to tell people what they can and can't take to a public area.

Perhaps absorbant/expanding granules be used on Oil leaks/Spills? ...There are many new inventions to help clean up messes..Hope the Oil companies will use them ...They made the mess..They should Clean it up.
