For Arizona's immigration policy??????

During two days of talks about human rights with China last week, the US raised examples of problems on its own soil and cited Arizona's controversial new immigration law as an example of "racial discrimination."

“We brought it up early and often. It was mentioned in the first session and as a troubling trend in our society, and an indication that we have to deal with issues of discrimination or potential discrimination. And these are issues very much being debated in our own society,” Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy Human Rights and Labor Michael Posner, who led the US delegation to the talks, told reporters on Friday.

Everyone should quit with the righteous indigination about the US apologizing over things. The simple fact is: the US has a lot to apologize for. From Human Rights Watch's report on the United States: child labor, Gitmo, immigration detention facilities, and the absolute worst foster care system you could imagine.

By the same token, the USA has done one Hell of a lot of good Globally to
offset the criticism that it does receive. Every country (& every person in
every country) can do better than they do. Criticism can be a healthy
thing if it's delivered with care to help one improve (be it a nation
or an individual)...Is that what we're seeing here?

Any constructive criticism supplied to the USA should be a war crime. There's a big book with two columns in it one red one black and there's no way that the account for the USA is humanely favourable, it owns the unenviable record for murder by war, economicly and militarily in the last century and it promises to eclipse that record if left unchecked in this century. That's just the facts of imperialism, historically. There's no such thing as a good empire and there never will be. That's my opinion Ron so I'm completely at a loss as to how you could possibly have arrived at your's.

It's not what they are apologizing about but who they are apologizing to...
