That's another reason they probably have genre nights like this. They really separate the people who have some creativity or adaptability from the ones who are safely stuck in their comfort zones. Like, "Here's the genre, see if you can find a way to make it work for you." The ones who do, advance. It probably means that in the music business, they'll also be able to adapt, grow, and not stagnate. People who can only do one narrow thing over and over may not be equipped to be stars in the business.

Also, this is a TV reality show, and a contest, and they have unusual genres to keep it interesting, to create drama, even when people crash and burn. Maybe especially when they crash and burn.

So it's been obvious for a few weeks that a competition had to be manufactured or this would have been the most boring season ever, with Crystal miles ahead of everyone else. So Lee seems to have been chosen for the build-up. (While Crystal is de-pimped.) It seems very manufactured. I wonder if they know they're pawns.

OMG, there are people who think like me! And they live in England.

You've found your people!!! :)

That's a really good point.

Jim's reaction vid. (Kris mention.. just sayin'...)

Harry Connick Jr.: 'Idol's' Break Out Star | News Video | MTV

Just saw it too. And I totally agree with what he said about Kris and Lee's trajectories. I don't really have a problem with Lee, I bought most of his studio versions and I'll probably buy his album (if he releases one after Idol), but I have a problem with the show *coughSimoncough* pimping Lee so much when they were so lukewarm towards Kris who was obviously a better singer and performer. I think only the most hardcore Glamberts would deny that Kris did a better job on Idol than Lee... but one would doubt it if listening only to the over-the-top praise they've given to Lee.

They're just pimping Lee because there's nobody better there. Kris was much better, but that's why he won in spite of everything the judges said. That's why his single went platinum without him having to do two nights on Idol. Etc. I don't like what the show did re Kris, but he really does have the last laugh. He knows he did it himself, without the pimping and the fawning, which must be incredibly gratifying. He knows people voted for him without being told to.

Well, no need to guess, it's right here...

Kris Allen on the controversy over his new single, 'The Truth,' and those added Pat Monahan vocals | EW.com

As always with Slezak, it's a great interview, but...

In an ideal world, would you have added the Pat Monahan vocals to the record?
It never even crossed my mind to do that. So it wouldn’t have happened in my mind. It wasn’t that type of song where you say, “We need someone else on this.” Now that it’s done, I hope it does really well, man. I really do.

Did I mention how I hate TPTB/Jive. Cause I hate them. I do. No trust for their artist at all.

You guys are not here!

Anyway, seems that The Truth 2.0 will be on iTunes next Tuesday. I have no desire to buy it, but will probably do it just for Kris. Just probably won't listen to it. I haven't even listened to TT2.0 a second time yet. And it wouldn't make me sad to never listen to it again.

It's on sale Tuesday? I'll totally buy it. I love it. I've even got used to Pat on the bridge.

Hey if I have Carly Rae Jepson singing Sour Candy with Josh Ramsey and without I can appreciate the Truth with Pat and Kris. If Pat gets the song a higher profile (even if it's just due to the controversy) well then well done Jive. Dear Jive you drove Kris's fans back to his website. You could have had them there all along if you'd bothered to update it from the beginning. Maybe sell the singles there like Adam does.. oh, I don't know.. post something occasionally.

But, really you are right this was about not trusting Kris to sell the song alone. Alright with Me would have killed.

But what I got from that article?

Keith Urban texts Kris?
