Multi - Generational Warfare - From low and high intensity - Many experts state this is the track we are on.

From failed states such as Mexico is headed - to famine - long term drought - States fighting over water rights - Terror Groups - Multi nation Gangs of which it appears to be ever increasing - Civil Wars

We in the West are on a path some will say of our own making and that I would disagree with that will result in Multi Generational Warfare - From low intensity - providing arms, advisor's to corrupt countries such as Yemen - to the Philippines where the US has expanded a program that helps the farmers and has paid massive benefits in raising the living standards - such as vet care etc - Building relationships - but when they leave will the Philippine Govts address the basic grievances that cause the local Muslims and others to stop support terror groups - Cleaning up corruption and bringing the ruling local Elites into line are critical -

We in the Western World will see in our own countries and on our very streets internal strife within differing Ethnic groups, where 1 culture will have infighting and others will attack an Ethnic culture just because of who they are over past or present grievances - blood feuds would be an appropriate analogy - - that will public and violent - Witness the Indian - Sikh divide ( Air India) - Witness the internal conflicts within the Sikh community - The Tamils are another example. Similar battles are being waged within many ethnic communities, just to name a few.

Another problem is from North Africa thru the Mid East the Govts and the former USSR collection of Stans are mostly handing power to sons and family members - who do not have the experience to deal with the many different and divergent ethnic and religious groups within their country. They are also completely corrupt. This itself will lead to more corruption and a perfect breeding ground for Terrorist groups

Some countries that are in this process - Algeria, Morocco, Libya and possible Egypt - Saudi - N Korea. Yet people are without work and with a high birth rate - no jobs - few prospects - equals trouble - internally and externally

The new wars will be in major cities that have massive slums - Mombai, is one but the world is filled with these types of cities - Ones that have a massive number of people that are at the bottom of the scale economically - no clean water - the list is long. Many are ripe for exploitation by terror groups and gangs - Many of these gangs are now international and linked / cooperate with major drug cartels and Terror Groups-

Factor in the massive displacement of people during a drought - then consider Climate Change and how it will decimate many countries in Africa.

International Drug Cartels are exchanging arms and drugs with terror groups - off shoots of Al Quaeda for one, but Africa and Asia have many such terror groups - Many of these flights are 707 cargo jets flying across the South Atlantic - a massive dead zone for most air traffic - into areas of Africa that are rife with wars and or corruption.

Look to Mexico as a State that is losing control to Drug Cartels and corruption of the State at all levels - Just one of many -

This will only worsen throughout the Mid East, Africa and the former Stans that hold significant supplies of gas - China, India and the US - EU will compete for energy reserves and a stable supply and military influence in what they see as their sphere of influence - Translated - They will each and every one support brutal dictators - and do not be surprised as China - India lead the pack for influence throughout Asia and the Pacific.

Many people forget that China and India have fought Wars - India had their asses kicked but is in a stronger position now. Chinese functionaries - read as approved by the Gang at the top - keep up their demands for India to relinquish supposed Chinese Territory, Same with India's claims - .

Others countries that have had recent wars Armenia and Azerbaijan - 1992 -result - Republic of Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh.

I would wait and see on this pessimistic post. It seems to me that all it is really saying is that in many parts of the world business will continue as usual.

As I have mentioned that the former USSR Republics - now the Stans - are the soft underbelly of Russia - The supposed might - and I say supposed as the Russian Military had immense difficulty with fighting the Georgian War are in total disarray. When you have to communicate as a Commander by cell phone that should give you a clear idea of how they cannot operate with any efficiency -

The Russian genocide and mass murders perpetrated in Chechnya will and has come back to haunt them with a vengeance

A substantial number of Russians are Muslim and the fear of Jihad is at the top of the table for Russian policy makers -

Putin's mass slaughter in Chechnya will not work any longer - neither will propping up corrupt regimes that slaughter their own people -

Something that the EU has avoided commenting upon but that time is also running out.

Today it appears that the Govt in Kyrgyzstan has changed - Only time will tell if it succeeds and what type of govt it will be. Some one commented more of the same - Wrong - very wrong - Change throughout is coming and not all is good.

This does sound like really serious, pessimistic stuff. But for some levity: The first time I read the title of the thread, "multi-generational warfare", I thought you meant like the Baby Boomers versus the Generation X versus the Millenials.

No but it will include natural resources, oil-gas - strategic metals - rare earths - technology thefts - much like China is doing now -

Mass migration - think millions - in poor countries of Africa north to the EU due to famine from climate change, war and on and on.

Part of this is because of our population explosion, especially in the undeveloped and developing nations of the world. When the population goes from 4 billion to 6, that means 50% more people are scrabbling for the same resources, and in the case of non-renewables, an ever lessening supply. 25ish years ago, when I was in high school, our one social studies teacher broached this subject with us, and shared the theory that in the not too distant future, because of our expanding global population, food itself will become a weapon. I think when we look at Darfur, that theory has come to fruition and I wonder what's next?

Look at Afirca - link on thread - climate change - now think famine - 5 million people on the move North - Then you have the underbelly of Russia - Rich in oil, gas, corruption and a perfect breeding ground for Terror Groups - These countries are mainly Muslim - and you can rest assured that they will revolt - only a matter of time - how it turns out - anyones guess.

I would add water, or the lack thereof, to your list, Goob. From water flows all life and when countries find they are running out of it, wars will be fought.

Good to see you back Mowich, there's a little bit too much here to wrap my mind around, actually I'm past the age of dwelling too long on the bad stuff. As for water, the amount of it in the world never changes and as fast as it gets polluted Mother Nature cleans it up. But that's no excuse for any one to make a mess without cleaning it up.
