I'm against Canadian imperialism, but not against soldiers. Soldiers just fight, politicians choose the wars they fight. You have to admire anyone who is willing to fight and/or die for an ideology, nation, or otherwise.

Please supply with related links and any other data, any example of 'Canadian Imperialism'.

Thanks in advance.

I can see their point and in a way, even agree with it. But that is punishing the kids for the deeds of their parents. It's stupid.

What it is Anna, is that we have ordered our young people to fight in a country ten thousand miles away and some of them get killed. In a way, we've stolen dads, and mothers and brothers, and sisters, and breadwinners from families. Paying the tuition for the children of those killed does not even come close to matching what was lost

Rather than "imperialism", our soldiers are trying to do their jobs and get out of Afghanistan in one piece. Some of them, too many in my opinion, come home dead. As far as I'm concerned, we can't do too much for the families and children of these men and women who died doing what they were ordered to do.
I completely concur Juan

So these are our colonies? I think you may see my point. Maybe?

Yeah. I got the term imperialist confused with enemy combatants.

We are fighting these people, not colonizing them.

English language can be tricky at times. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

EDIT: Well we are fighting or were fighting. Hope nobody jumps on me for that. :p

Or in the case of Haiti, we are rebuilding their society, which I think is a waste of time, money, and lives.

So Canada was fighting Vietnam?

And Canada has lost lives in Haiti?
