I'm still waiting for you to provide some facts that Coulter has acted in contrary to Canadian Hate Speech Laws.

Hate speech laws shouldn't exist. If someone is offended by "hate speech", they should grow thicker skin.

Unless some group of people is armed and calling for genocide, then that is different. But that falls into death threats, not "hate speech".

There is no such thing as "hate speech". Do we have "love speech"? Hah.

Yes Curio. I'm sure that university will be the meat of Coulter's act for some time. I agree that she was a poor choice for a university. Perhaps a car salesmen's convention would have been more suitable. ;-)
More like Yuk Yuks, Second City, or the Montreal Comedy Festival. The "lady" is a walking joke. :D

Agreed, which is why I support free speech, up to the point of actually calling upon people to inflict violence on a group, or crying fire in a crowded theater.

Absolutely

Good question, and I agree.

Ya, she is the right age and temperament to be a Cougar. Probably likes young men who are her intellectual equals, like junior high school students.
She seems fairly intellectual compared to most people.

A Connecticut native, Coulter graduated with honors from Cornell University School of Arts & Sciences, and received her J.D. from University of Michigan Law School, where she was an editor of The Michigan Law Review. (just like the Bamster did at Harvard, but we don't know if he was an honours student)

Coulter clerked for the Honorable Pasco Bowman II of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and was an attorney in the Department of Justice Honors Program for outstanding law school graduates.

After practicing law in private practice in New York City, Coulter worked for the Senate Judiciary Committee, where she handled crime and immigration issues for Senator Spencer Abraham of Michigan. From there, she became a litigator with the Center For Individual Rights in Washington, DC, a public interest law firm dedicated to the defense of individual rights with particular emphasis on freedom of speech, civil rights, and the free exercise of religion.

I basically only read the headlines but I gather she was a major hit in Alberta last night. Only a tiny group of protesters showed up. She states that Canada is not a diverse country because everyone in the audience looks just like her (white?).

Most these "students" are braindead morons who are what Stalin would call "useful idiots". If I ever become a communist or a fascist dictator, I will without a doubt, start recruiting first thing at the universities.

These people really are an embarrassment. What is worse, they represent our intellectual future...
Hey Libertarian, A student who has shown do diligence to spend years in becoming a useful member of society is not a "brain-dead moron" but rather you seem to fit the description by claiming, if you ever became a dictator you would recruit first from Universities.8O
Should you ever become that your fate will be an ugly one at best.:x

, give it up, you are defending wrong. In the History of man kind the white folks have screwed the black folks as well many other minorities, all in the name of exploitation.

Your understanding of humanity is poor, Bush must be your idol, the worst president to lead 350.000 million people on the 20th Century in a world of hate on a lie, both Senior Bush and the son GW.

The woman you are defending fits the name and the game of a true bigot.
She is a bag of toxic energy bad for humanity.

Any one who would waist money to listen to her shoot off her crap or on a book full of crap needs intellectual calibration.

Intellectual doesn't mean wise. I agree she isn't the dullest knife in the drawer, but she isn't the sharpest either. She's obviously lacking couth and class.

She's pretty idiotic if she thinks diversity is race only. What about diversity of thought, culture, language, religion, personalities, and more? Personally, I'd rather have those kinds of diversities then racial diversity. You could have ten people of different races, but all be the same religion, same language, similar personality, and similar thought pattern. Where is the fun in that?

If she thinks all White people are the same, then she's an idiot. Because look at Europe to see that is not the case. Heck, even in Canada, people from Alberta are quite a bit different from those in British Columbia, and way different from those in Quebec or Newfoundland.

Not espousing the traits they just did in Ottawa. They will transform a free and open society, in to the dark fascist state you also promote. So I can see how in your opinion, they be da bomb!
Should you ever become that your fate will be an ugly one at best.:x
Not as ugly as the future we are presently, given the ignorant, intolerant and infantile actions of the U of O students.

No one is defending her commentary, what is so hard for you to grasp about that concept?
She is a bag of toxic energy bad for humanity.
And your brand of toxic, violence supporting censorship is much better?

I'm not saying all students are brain-dead morons. I have also been a university student in the past, so I know. If I wanted to be a dictator, the best, most easily malleable, would be found in the universities.

What is claimed as diversity of thought and debates, is not really true. Most of our campuses in Canada have a huge liberal/left-wing bias, and I say this as a mostly left-winger myself.

That's not fair. I want to see real debate and open-mindedness amongst students, but certainly I don't see it. These types of people are sheep, easily lead to believe whatever you want them to believe.

And yes, I know some. And yes, there are many in university who are not sheep. But if you blindly follow the herd without actually giving any thought into your own views, you are a sheep. Or a brain-dead moron, regardless of what political view that is.

What? This is the kind of liberal nonsense I'm talking about. White folk have screwed Black folk? Sure, some have, but some Black folk have screwed with White folk.

You think it is only White people who are to blame for colonialism and exploitation? That would be a racist sentiment, no? What do you describe the Chinese doing in Africa now?

If that is not colonialism, then tell me what is. As for slavery, every racial group has been slaves or en-denture servants at one point in history. And every group has had slaves, or exploited other people.

Show me one country that hasn't.

Your understanding of humanity is poor, Bush must be your idol, the worst president to lead 350.000 million people on the 20th Century in a world of hate on a lie, both Senior Bush and the son GW.
What? Bush isn't even a libertarian. The Patriot Act, hello? He's against freedom, and for a globalist corporatist New World Order. Obama is hardly better. NEITHER support true liberty, neither I like. So I don't play sides amongst Republicans and Democrats, when neither are Libertarians.

Even so. She has the right to speak if she wants to. Everyone does. And she is pretty tame compared to some speakers. I support freedom of speech, don't you?

Yes u do need help.......................... b ...................help...................:canada:
I'm open-minded and would pay to hear her speak, or a liberal speak, or a communist, fascist, anarchist, or anyone who has a convincing view to sell me. If you are not open-minded, then I can understand it.

I don't support Neo Cons at all. Don't confuse me with a right-wing Republican.

I'm a left-wing libertarian, with some right-wing views. I don't support invading countries without good reason.

I know the war in the Middle East is unwinnable, and mostly for oil. Then again, giving terrorists a free pass to attack whatever they want is also a bad idea.

There is no good solution to the conflict, but I favor a non-interventionist foreign policy.

That's what the Founding Fathers of America would do. But if someone attacks America, they are free game (same with Canada).

Yet, you could argue 9/11 was an inside job, in that case, it is much more complicated.
A walking contradiction, we need some of them.

"Whether you want to believe it or not JLM, the U.S. does not operate in a vacuum. The U.S. has to accept some of the responsibility for causing 9/11. American bombing has killed hundreds of thousands of Arabs....read Muslims. Ann Coulter's comment regarding flying carpets and camels was probably not considered funny by Muslims. Muslims are not innocent either but there is give and take on both sides."

And of course, a rape victim must assume some responsibility about her being raped. And let us not forget the home owner who should be responsible to have home to be broken into and robbed.

And let us not forget about all the flying carpets that were flown into mosques and minarets - flown by Ann Coulter and her cohorts - killing thousands of innocent Muslims.

Remember though, that's the groups she's most likely to attract. Was she expecting a flood of Muslims at her speech?
If I was her, I wouldn't.

They don't do rebuttal, they do...

I can't really get too upset about people taking a crack at Muslims, they've caused a lot of grief for a lot of people. Maybe more people should look at them the way Ann Coulter does.

Coulter's logic:

Some Muslims have blown crashed airplanes into buildings, therefore we ought to keep all Muslims off planes.

Application of that logic to Christians:

Some Christians engage in terrorism (Christian terrorism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia), therefore no Christian should not be allowed to possess a weapon.

Yes, my idea is illogical, but no more so than Coulter's.

Not really. Read about libertarian ideology. It is neither democratic nor republican. It can be a both left-wing or right-wing ideology.
Several people have tried to inform a few people here about that. Basically a libertarian is the opposite of an authoritarian and can be left-wing, right-wing or centrist (which is the only likeness it has to authoritarianism). It's a futile effort to educate some people about it.
