You're right (not about smoking though). I was thinking in terms of exact opposites. Clearly one side of a coin is on the opposite site of the other. But a head and a tail are not necessarily opposites of each other, except when used within the specific symbolic context of sides of a coin.
But I admit I wasn't thinking too clearly in my last post. Not much sleep last night.
