Somewhere, someplace
I saw Avatar in 3D a few weeks ago, and I wasn't too impressed with the storyline and plot. The movie is a re-imaging of Dances with Wolves. If you like visual effects with little substance, then this film is the one for you.

Yep it was a hollow cartoon knock off of Dances with Wolves.

What James Cameron took over ten years to make was a showcase of the new technology. Hollow cartoon? You have no idea. The movie will get a three month run on IMAX. I personally can't wait to see it in in that format.

Well, I'm glad you compared it to Dances with Wolves (which is pretty good) instead of The Last Samurai (pretty stupid)...

I think you need a Blu-ray compatible player and TV as well. If you have an HD TV you are likely okay.

The tv works with Blueray and the player in the desktop is a Blueray player. It's a Sony BWU-300S and the tv is a 40" Z series Bravia.

Last Samurai is heavily compared to Dances With Wolves. Both films were boxoffice hits during their runs.

#juan. Cameron said Avatar was the movie he wanted to see when he was 14 years old. Well that's all fine for him, but most 14 year olds want to see boobs, butts, and hot honeys (thats what I wanted to see when I was that age). Not ten foot tall smurfs.

If he would've spent some of that ten years developing a better story/plot, he would've had a better movie. But he didn't. So yeah, Canaduh's hollowed cartoon analysis is pretty accurate.

According to the IMDB boards most males that watched it got a hard on from the Navi woman, w/e her name was. /shudder.

Like any movie, Avatar can be seen on many levels. The world Cameron and his team have created is nothing short of fantastic. But it is also a metaphor for our world. Perhaps a little cliche, but the overall message is, none the less, one and the same that Amerindians have been trying to get through our thick skulls since we first invaded this continent. There is far more to reality than material stuff and it is far more valuable than money.

They are both "humanoid" not 10 ft tall horse face mongoloids.

So the answer was yes... you're xenophobic. lol. Mongoloid features are just as attractive on a human level as Caucasoid features. Plenty of men (and women) find them to be attractive.

Not at all, I'm not a xenophobe just because I dont find bad CGI attractive.

No, but you stated the presence of mongoloid features as being part of the reason... which struck me as funny considering.

Mongoloid doesn't mean Mongolian looking features it means ugly or retarded. But by all means keep assuming you know me its quite entertaining.
