Goober already posted those stats. Keep up ... please.
Couldn't the use B-52's to saturate the harbor with aid that comes in floating containers?

I wonder if the pictures were good eating?
Did the Police go and gather up the pictures and lock them up for safe keeping or leave them laying in the street? I would bet the officer will not survive the week if the girl was well liked. At this point who cares about stuff like pictures, they would be headed for a landfill when the loaders and trucks arrive anyway.

How would I know? It's your propaganda....

If she was stealing food or water, I would empathize a lot more. Was stealing pictures for a wall that is probably not even standing any more worth risking her own life?

No it was an article I had just read, who would have laid charges against her? Aren't the Police supposed to be after the machete yielding prison gangs?

Yeah ... I read it in the link you didn't provide.
I'm looking ........... if I haven't found it yet I might not be able to. The headline was something about relief planes out of Miami that were used for smuggling when not delivering humanitarian aid. It made me chuckle but I didn't read the actual article. I won't reference it again till I can supply the link.

I'm not defending the police action BUT quite likely some sort of Martial Law is in effect - where looters are just as wrong as murderers.

So when does savaging start to get used as a description instead of looting. The goods are all abandoned. 5 min before it is headed for the dump?

Scavenging? I suppose, maybe, if you can eat it or drink it. How do you know the proper owners - if they survived - wouldn't like to salvage whatever belongings they have left? Your guess is as good as mine.

100 flights alone are leaving from Homestead AFB alone every day. Once they get the ports open, things should be a lot better as to getting the needed supplies there. The problem is as it will always be for the foreseeable future getting food and water distributed to the people. The U.S. government could have had 1st responders on the ground there within 6 hours earlier than they did. But because of some political war going on between the federal goverment and Miami Dade rescue, they were held back till teams from LA, Virginia and a few other places went first. That was 80 fire rescue people who could have started helping a good 12 hours before other we even ready to go.

Here are all the registered airports in Haiti:

Cap Haitien 4900 ft paved runway
Jacmel 3900 ft unpaved runway
Jeremie 3900 ft unpaved runway
Port De Paix 2000 ft unpaved runway
Port-Au-Prince 9900 ft paved runway

Airports in Haiti

The biggest problem is having a Flight Services System available to keep everyone out of the way of everyone else. Would not do to have multiple air crashes.

Was not aware of those delays - But if accurate it is really disgusting -

I noted my dear friend JBeee started a tread comparing the US Policy of not accepting a massive flood of Haitian refugees as comparable to the Western World - He singles out the US as usual - but the Western World closed their doors to Jewish refugees -

As I mentioned in this thread - regardless of what the US does some creature surfaces and finds fault in everything -

I wonder how many hundreds of Billions of dollars the Us has provided since 1945 forward - Not linked aid - just plain old money for this program and that -

Haitian Refuges will not and I say not gain admittance to any country due to the quake - Millions of refugees - Now who and what Govt would do that - None -

Natural disasters happen. recall the Tsunami, the Quake in Pakistan -
Did we see the same outpouring of "we must accept these people into Canada - US - Europe" -

No - Why - simply cost effective to rebuild than transport, support, find employment, housing etc and now a recession. Yet the US gets singled out as racist -

One day the US will say - No, we are not going to help -
