I did not start it, ironsides.
Of course you did. You made racist comments. That "started it". Now, that being said, even my 12 year old daughters have outgrown the "she started it" schtick.
I did not start it, ironsides.
Just a typo, TenPenny (blame it on the spell checker).
Flat out bullshyte. Your thread title was innocuous enough. But then you made the issue about skin color right from the start. You are a bigot.I did not start it, ironsides.
ok SJP...instead of constantly calling Eagle a racist, how about you prove it. Quote any racist comments that he has made. If you can't, then STFU with the racist BS.
somebody quote this so the moron can see it.
Any reasonable person would, ironsides.. At least anybody who has traveled to third world countries, seen the racism, the snobbery, the caste system that is prevalent there (in general the darker the woman, more she is treated with contempt).
Many third world women identify with Michelle Obama precisely because she looks dark (at least that is what CNN says, and I tend to agree, sounds reasonable to me). They did not identify with Hillary Clinton (who is fully as educated, as articulate as Michelle) or with Laura Bush.
Too bad for you the responses to the article stated different. Women in India felt offended that they should look up to the wife of a powerful man as opposed to Indian women who were powerful in their own right.
"She could be a new face for India," says Ferreira, program officer for an HIV-prevention program run by World Vision, an international humanitarian group. "She shows women that it's OK to have dark skin and to not have a son. She's quite real to us."
You couldn’t’ be more wrong if you tried, EagleSmack. This is what the article says about India.

"Those who focus on Michelle Obama's impact on America are underestimating her reach. The first lady is inspiring women of color around the globe to look at themselves, and America, in fresh ways."
Many Indian women look up to her precisely because she is dark skinned. Anyway, I get the impression that you really haven’t traveled much in the third world countries. I have (well only in India, but I was able to observe India down to the slum level). You judge everybody with your conservative, Republican standards.
Michelle is a Democrat so third world women cannot possibly look up to her (this according to you). Do you think that third world women looked up to Laura Bush (or to Nancy Reagan)? My suggestion would be travel to broaden your horizons.
Ferreira sounds Latino, Portuguese, or Spanish. Yet this Ferreira can speak for Indian women? Absurd. You couldn’t’ be more wrong if you tried, EagleSmack. This is what the article says about India.

Name a few. I'd suggest the vast majority don't pay much attention to US politics, but are more concerned with what and who they are familiar with. Your hypothesis is silly. Many Indian women look up to her precisely because she is dark skinned.
So? You judge everyone by whatever silly standards you have.Anyway, I get the impression that you really haven’t traveled much in the third world countries. I take it Ferreira is a common surname in India?

Michelle Obama....Blackie O
Ironsides being a Conservative in here...well isn't he by being a Conservative "racist" in your view?
I never call anybody a racist, EagleSmack. Calling somebody a racist is a copout, that means you have run out of arguments. I only reciprocate. Since you called me a racist, I returned the favour and called you one (and illustrated how most blacks regard many conservatives as racist).
But I much prefer to engage in substantive arguments, rather than name calling.
Getting short on your meds Joey?
You are a racist because of your racist declarations.
I never call anybody a racist,
I never call anybody a racist, ... I returned the favour and called you one...
I'm curious if SJP can explain that comment.
'I never do something, except when I do it.'
It's similar to the one I noticed where he basically said most blacks are liberal and I am liberal, therefore I am not racist.I'm curious if SJP can explain that comment.
'I never do something, except when I do it.'
That is easy TenPenny. I would never call anybody a racist, except when somebody else calls me one. Then I consider myself free to call him a racist, if he indeed is one (as is the case with EagleSmack).
