SJP lost again. Move those goal posts!

Your opinion only, Extrafire.

Didn't we already have this discussion? Incompetance, remember?

You mean Bush Jr could not brow beat the rest of the world, with his cowboy, shoot from the hip, shoot first, ask questions later attitude? Now really, if you cannot browbeat somebody with a gun, how can you browbeat them? Doesn’t that really prove that trying to browbeat countries like India, China, France, Germany or Italy doesn’t work?

If Bush and Cheney, with their cowboy and Darth Vader mentality cannot browbeat anybody, what makes you think that Bush Sr or Clinton were able to browbeat them?

THere you go again, re-iterating the lefty position. Isn't that basically what I just said?

Indeed, you claimed that Kuwait and Serbia operations were as illegal as invasion of Iraq.

I just looked up "alone" in the dictionary. It had a picture of you in bed.

There is no need to resort to insults, Extrafire. If you can carry out a civil, rational dialog, that is one thing. If you are going to stoops to the level of some of the Trolls here and resort to personal name calling, personal insults, we are done.

Carry on with that distortion but never admit it

There is no distortion. You said it and I reiterate it here.

You tried to minimize the Iraq casualties by saying that 4000 deaths is not much, they lose that many in 2 years of peace time training accidents.

Are you certain the money hasn't been spent? Are you sure that isn't just more lies from the republican radicals meant to discredit the Obamessiah?

The link I quoted is not a Republican link, Extrafire, that is an unbiased, independent link. Check it out for yourself. The fact that Republicans were saying it is irrelevant. Even Republicans can accidentally stumble upon truth once in a while.

You do? Really? Then why do you make up all those rediculous attributes for them?

What ridiculous attributes?

Is Florida housing market recovering, ironsides? That is news to me.

We keep getting mixed signals, prices seem to be rising (2-3%), yet homes are still being foreclosed upon. Homes in nice prime areas are selling though nothing like it used to be, might have to wait 6-8 months maybe longer. Waterfront is still expensive.

Waterfront is mostly immune to recession, ironsides. House prices in general may fall, but waterfront property retains its value. I suppose many well off people (doctors, CEOS, lawyers etc.) are immune to recession, so there are always people who want to buy waterfront property.

It is the same in Canada.

The forum still seems to be around, pgs. I didn’t try to post a message, there was nothing worth responding to.

Waterfront still out of my price range, want to look at some foreclosures though, wonder what banks are asking?

We do have a waterfront home, ironsides, and our house has not gone down in price at all. A couple of months ago a real estate agent approached me asking me if I wanted to sell. We have no intention of selling of course, the wife says this is our retirement home.

Cannucklehead --- the Quinnipiac poll shows that the Republicans disapproval ratings are higher than those of Obama. Therefore, if you are going to criticize him, remember that your fellow Pukies are held in lower regard by the American public.

''Home sales soar 7.2 percent in July''

Home sales soar 7.2 percent in July - Stocks & economy- msnbc.com

''The U.S. housing market is rebounding faster than expected.
The question is, can it last?
Home resales in July posted the largest monthly increase in at least 10 years as first-time buyers rushed to take advantage of a tax credit that expires Nov. 30. Sales jumped 7.2 percent and beat expectations, the National Association of Realtors said Friday. ''

Eventually, actually quite soon, this growth will come to Florida as well.

''Four-Day Rally Pushes Stocks to 2009 Highs''

Four-Day Rally Pushes Stocks to 2009 Highs - Market Overview * US * News * Story - CNBC.com

'Stocks rallied for a fourth straight session Friday, ending at their highest closing levels since the fall, after a sharp jump in existing-home sales ... "After contracting sharply over the past year, economic activity appears to be leveling out, both in the United States and abroad, and the prospects for a return to growth in the near term appear good," Bernanke said .''

While the Obama haters continue to harp on his supposed failings, the fact remains that the economy is recovering from the mess Bush created.

Distorting my words again. Are you really that dense or are you just being obtuse? Do I have to spell it out for you?

1. I never claimed Bush Jr couldn't brow beat the rest of the world. I never even claimed that he tried to brow beat anyone, and as far as I know, he didn't.

2. Bush Sr didn't try to brow beat countries like India, China, France, Germany or Italy. It's the little ones you go after. Duh!

If Bush and Cheney, with their cowboy and Darth Vader mentality cannot browbeat anybody, what makes you think that Bush Sr or Clinton were able to browbeat them?
I only reported what some lefty commentators said at the time.

Indeed, you claimed that Kuwait and Serbia operations were as illegal as invasion of Iraq.
No, this is what I claimed:
There was considerable opinion that the bombing of Serbia was illegal too. And Clinton had no "official approval" for his attacks on Sudan or Afghanistan

Oh boo-hoo! You can dish it out but can't take it? :sad10: Cry me a river.

Here is what I said:
4000 dead in 7 years of war? They lose that many in 2 years of peace time training accidents. Every death a tragedy to be sure, but have you ever seen the casualty figures of their other wars?
Notice the bolded words.

WHich doesn't answer my question above.

SJP getting his talking points from Republicans, and by extention, Rush Limbaugh! Imagine that! :p

You do? Really? Then why do you make up all those rediculous attributes for them?

Oh, all that stuff about them being ultra right wing, so extremist that Reagan would be kicked out of todays' republican party, about them electing Rush as their leader (or of him taking over he party by force). The stuff you've posted so often in the recent past.

Good point. Have they repealed the Carter/Clinton acts that led to the mortgage meltdown? If not they just may do it all again. I know they gave $5 billion of the "stimulus" money to ACORN who were so heavily involved in forcing mortgage approvals for unqualified applicants, and Fannie Mae has been authorized to lend 125% of assessed value. Almost looks like they're setting the stage for more of the same.
