What is the conspiracy-style theory associated with a super highway?

There's no word in Spanish for superhighway, and while Mexico has a highway system, when I was there I saw guards at checkpoints and traffic was quite modest.

Cdn business wants to reduce the border, all in the name of jobs. Harmonization they like to call it. Not always a bad idea as we have to get along with our biggest and only country that borders us.

Yet biz said that NAFTA was only about trade, there would be few political ramifications, but obviously there are. Capital has loyalty to where it gets the highest returns, so Cdn biz can't help but look with envy to the USA. Cdn banks wished to copy the US banking system, luckily the fed govt told them to forget it.

I can appreciate what both of you are suggesting, however, I don't see where a conspiracy theory comes into play... I had a vision that there was something kinda sinister involved.

Don't you see, the USA Is fading in the big world it now has real competition, and now their shrinking tentacles are aiming toward Canada and Mexico. Much smaller fry to take over. It's so obvious.

Try "supercarretera" means superhighway.

Yup, nothing we want more than a new conflict with Canada and Mexico. Dang my trigger finger is a itchin. Don't you think we have enough problems without making any more, especially with our neighbors.

I don't know if 'supercarretera' exists as a word, but if so, then it's likely used only by Hispanics who've been influenced by the English language, since it's essentially an anglicism, a literal translation of super- and highway. The mainstream word beyond spheres of English influence would be autopista.

The USA may be fading in a big world, but guess what, so is Canada.

Your right, I do not think they have the word superhighway either after looking it up, carretera is highway and super would be fantastica.
