One thing I love about these political threads is all the b.s.; you get more of it in one day here than in 10 years of National Enquirers and it doesn't cost any money.
I missed this little post by You, JLM, but you are right. Lots of fun, isn’t it?

Perhaps, EagelSmack. However, these words (insult, patronizing, satire etc.) have dictionary meanings and they are different from each other. So if somebody wants to equate insult with satire, that is his right, I suppose, but that is not backed by the dictionary.
Hey, he (or she) can feel anyway he wants, nobody is stopping him. But patronized and insult are two totally different things, according to the dictionary meaning.
What any regular person says about anyone is of no consequence.
But when the Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid refers to the wife of former U.S. President, G.W.H. Bush as a b1tch, in his feeble attempt to demean her son, the total moral turpitude of all the liberals is clearly revealed.
No matter how SirJosephPorter might spin it.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, Y.J. George has got a pretty thick skin and some think a thick head too.
Why only George, JLM? Everybody in politics has a thick skin. He has to, otherwise he won’t survive in politics.
Thus do you think that Pelosi feels insulted by the extreme right wing Republican base calling her a bitch, a hag and a prostitute? No way, she probably regards it with amused contempt.
This women is more dangerous to the United States than any Republican or Democrat including President Obama who only does what he is told.
You are changing the subject, Yukon. Harry Reid may or may not have called Laura Bush a bitch, I don’t know. We are talking about the Republican attempt to smear Pelosi, their politics of personal destruction, mud slinging, by calling Pelosi a bitch, a hag and a prostitute.
Nancy Pelosi the most powerful person in American politics.
I don’t think the Speaker is ever that powerful, ironsides. Gingrich had ambitions to be the most powerful person in Washington, he fully hoped to rival Clinton and to subdue, conquer Clinton. He failed miserably.
Speaker has certain powers which she can use only in the House. She has no jurisdiction outside the House. Even in the House she is bound by what her party thinks.
Depending upon the personalities, some Speakers can be very effective in the House. Thus Gingrich was very effective, while Hastert was simply a figure head (Tom Delay and Dick Army being the real powers behind the throne).
But to say that Speaker is the most powerful person in American politics is stretching a bit. That honour goes to the President.
Normally I would agree with you, but in this case I feel that Nancy Pelosi trumps the President. Between her and Harry Reid they have things pretty locked up.
