U.S. senators consider options for ailing newspapers

This gist of this article is some US Senators are looking at propping up ailing newspapers... newspapers that are pro-Democrat and liberal in particular. The case mentioned is the ailing Boston Globe who has always been the liberal mouth piece here in Massachusetts. Now the Globe is slated to LOSE $85 MILLION this year (After losing $65 Million last year) and the NY Times (who owns the Boston Globe) threatened to shut it down unless the Globe makes some serious concessions, which they recently did.

Nobody is reading it and advertisement sales have plummetted.

So US Senator (Democrat-MASS) John Kerry was proposing a bail out of sorts in tax relief so the newspaper could stay afloat and subsidizes and eternally obedient to their new Democrat masters.

Printed media is just about out of rope. Now they better find some other method of getting the word out. The Democrats want to have a media that is friendly to them and this is that media. Many in the US do not have a computer and without reaching those who have less who will the Democrats play to??

Why would I want to read something that I usually only read once and then recycle when I can get the same reading material off the net? Newspapers are archaic. Actually, news is archaic. The who, what, when, where, how, and why is basically ignored by reporters or else not very well researched and then it is editorialised to say what the producer wants it to say anyway.

Print media is on its way out as inevitably as the buggy whip was at the advent of the automobile age.

Still it is comforting to, see that that the most vicious, vitriolic and barbarically anti-decency, pro-abortion, pro-homosexual liberal rags are the first to go.

Wanna buy shares of New York Times, the "paper of record"?

One share will cost you less than a copy of this tree-wasting pile of garbage.

What is it about the notion of conservatism that makes people think they have to act like they're on FOX news?

Anyway, I know conservatives that aren't consumed with hatred and are relatively descent people so, in my personal experience, conservatives are capable of much more than the American model seems to provide.

About the only times I read print media are on airplanes (rarely because I usually bring my own book) or in a waiting room (i.e. magazines in the dentist/dr/etc). For news sources I turn to TV or increasingly to the web and I don't think I'm against the trend. Newspapers to me, are something I put under my cat's litter box.

Maybe so, gopher!

But right-wing newspapers will be used to wrap fish and chips, while left-wing ones will be used as they have always been: hold and cover bird exrement.

"You probably heard that from Rush so the info is as worthless as a seven dollar bill."

Is that the new Canadian seven dollar bill with the image of the ultimate phoney, Pierre Elliot Trudeau????
