the bare fact of the matter though, is that not everyone cares one bit more about your family pet than you do about the steak that hits your plate, or the fish you hook for dinner. And there's no reason they should HAVE to, as much as you might like them to. There's no reason they should HAVE to go out of their way to pick up its ****. There's no reason they should have to walk over to confront you and risk a punch in the head because of your irresponsibility.
But, that is life, and it is that way because of all of our differences, so, I
chose to scoop up the poop and deliver it back to the owner, and let him know
that the poop belonged to his dog, so it also belonged to him, I did it in such a
way that 'it just made sense', no anger involved, and he responded in a way
that was satisfying to me. He obviously had never even thought about where
his dog 'pooped', and all of a sudden he 'did'. The poop had to land somewhere,
'bling, a light went on'. His dog never pooped in my yard again.
I could have been really angry, threatened the dog, yelled at the man, and
trashed the whole act 'that had happened, and the outcome could have been totally different.
There are really serious events going on in this world, and 'poop' on the ground
isn't worlth getting so angry about.
Now, if someone landed a missile in my yard, I might have reacted slightly
different.
I have also had an incident with a neighbour dog, that finally led me to the
spca, and I never saw that dog again, it had become dangerous, I approached
the dog owner, he told me to walk a different route, if I didn't like their dog.The spca was satisfied that
I had made an intelligent effort to let the dog owner know that their dog was
a big problem to me, as a pedestrian, trying to walk by their house, so they
took care of the problem.
