In osme peoples minds it would seem the "mission" in Afghanistan makes some kind of sense- I can't really converse with these people, sadly, since to me the thing has been an immense, unnecessary waste of time, money and lives (lives on both sides tho HEAVILY weighted on the Afghan civilian side)

I would have thought that the bloodthirsty loudmouths would eventually se th futility of our involvement there as the value of "9-11" faded like all other trends, but no, somehow there's still some kind of point to it. I see none, and I have never seen a single convincing explanation as to why it is the way it is, just a bunch of pathetic patriotic BS.

I noticed, with the US adding more troops it is going to get worse, a lot worse. Even their former allie Pakistan is going to be part of countries in need of changes that only the US can supply. (much to India's delight)

As Mhz so kindly pointed out, Dresden, and we, the Allies were the "civilised" ones in that whole mess.

War is neither civil, nor civilised.

Nothing involved in war could even be remotely attcked to those two words.

The outcome, when it is better then before, is what we all wish to be civilised.
