Agreed....or a multi national force.....americans, British, Canadian, and Russian.
Nope, to many ROE's. Just the Marines, they managed to restore order once before. If that isn't the course of action, then an all out assault. No hold barred, just take the country by lethal force and end the BS.

The sam eshould be applied in Afghanistan, stop pussy footing around.

I know you won't like this, but it's time to take the kid gloves off and actually fight, f!ck the civilian casualties. Just kill until they stop coming. Enough is enough.

Screw that Ironsides, I'm still looking for some payback. I say let the Marines in again. They did a bang up job the first time round.

Yes we did, and then for some reason, they pulled us out. Mogadishu was relatively peaceful when we boarded our ships and sailed away. Warlords then moved in and all hell broke lose. Kind of hard to come back and do things all over again. I can understand your wanting to get back at them, but what would it accomplish except make us both happy. I think something will be done soon, I cannot see Obama waiting forever for it to go away, the people here are beginning to grumble about his inaction..:angryfire:

He's a Dem, he'll fumble with it and f!ck it up. We'll end up with peacekeepers in there again. That dog don't hunt in that hole. That place, like Afghanistan needs a huge can of military whoop ass dumped on it.

maybe unf's idea is best....both the USS Howard and the Russian Peter the Great are sitting off Somalia...wouldn't take long for those 2 to turn the entire coastline into a toxic dump.

They could, should leave that coastline looking like Edward James Almos' face.

We shouldn't forget that Somalia is a country that has been meddled in by other countries for some time now. At one time Mussolini wanted to use it as a haven for excess Italians. The country was run by India for a time. Meanwhile nobody was asking the people. For thirty years or so the country has been in a state of civil war. I think it would be a good idea to send a UN force in and turn the country into some kind of domocracy or whatever the people would like. One condition for aid might be that they turn over all the pirates.

A US ship captain has been rescued after being held for five days in a
lifeboat by Somali pirates.

Source: Somali Pirates: Captain Richard Phillips Freed By Captors Off Horn Of Africa | World News | Sky News

Captain Richard Phillips was held captive hundreds of miles off the Horn of Africa
after pirates raided his aid ship, the Maersk Alabama.

"I can confirm that Captain Phillips has been safely recovered," said US State
Department spokeswoman Laura Tischler.

Sources said three of the pirates holding him were killed in the operation.

The fourth was injured in the firefight and is in US custody.

Mr Phillips is uninjured and is now on the USS Bainbridge, one of the two US Navy
warships involved in the tense stand-off.

Last night, the Maersk Alabama docked in Kenya's coastal city of Mombassa.

The crew told of the 53-year-old captain's bravery.

They said that as the pirates boarded the US cargo ship, he told his crew to lock
themselves in a cabin and surrendered himself to safeguard his men.

"He saved our lives!" shouted second mate Ken Quinn as the 17,000-tonne ship
docked. "He's a hero!"

The crew later overpowered some of the pirates but the Somalis fled with Captain
Phillips to a lifeboat.

Anti-piracy expert Nick Davis told Sky News: "They (the pirates) will learn from
this. They're not going to stop piracy in any way, shape or form. They will up the
anti, they will get better organised.

"Those killed would have been the foot soldiers. It's now going to fall back to the
chain of command in the Somalian network of piracy, both ashore and in different
countries, as to how they want to up the anti.

"This is not going to send any message at all, apart from 'now the Americans
have been aggressive towards us, then we can be aggressive if we don't get
what we want'.

"It's a very, very big business and there are hundreds, if not now thousands of
people involved in this, in several different countries."

Ya, the UN has an awesome track record.

"This is not going to send any message at all, apart from 'now the Americans

what we want'.
So now these Somalia Pirates can justify being aggressive with
Americans and American ships due to this rescue, as opposed to just
hijacking their ships and kidnapping members of their crew and holding
them for days with guns pointed at their heads.

Good that's clarified. 8O

I've had an epiphany...or is that I had someone piss on me...... either way....I'm getting sick and f*ckin tired of this shyte.
Now you know where I am.

Gh, I know when we first met, you didn't like my sorta "Killem all and let Allah sort them out" mentality. I don't much like that about myself either and at times, I just plain don't like myself at all. This stems from my past. I'v actually seen these people, up close and personal. Most are sweet normal everyday people. But you see, mixed in with the sweet people are the conivers, the warmongers and the religious zealots. People who would screw their grand mothers for a buck.

They sicken me...

In Srebrenica, I watched people we were sent to and charged with protecting, with our very lives, spit at us. Fight us at every turn. Which is where my affinity for Muslims and Islam comes from. I try hard to seperate the good from the bad, but you know what? I watch sweet decent people mutate before me, into ravinous animals, when incited.

Though this isn't a phenomenon solely the product of these people. They seem far to easily swayed to disregard human life and throw humanity out the window, literally.

I have little faith in these people to do the right thing. Killing is all they understand, then killing is what we should give them.

Just like the absurdity of Toronto City Council claiming they will not kill the Coyote in the Beaches, but instead rehabilitate it. These people respect nothing but the business end of the gun. Coddling them is stupid and dangerous. I don't care why or who's to blame, but wiping the bulk of them off the face of the earth and letting those that wish to live in peace do so at will, just seems to be a good plan.

Great news that the Captain has been freed, and that he is unhurt(relatively speaking).

(I just wish the reporter that wrote the original article had used the word 'ante' instead of 'anti'. That was cringe-worthy.:lol:)

So, the pirates will "increase their aggressiveness" will they? I guess they are looking to start getting blown out of the water, as any increased violence will be met with increased retaliation(and the militaries have far superior firepower).

US warship challenges Somalia pirates - Telegraph

Prime example right here..... sink the ****ing ship.....why give them even the "chance" of off loading those tanks and weapons.

They will fight to the death to protect their catch? No. A catch would be something that happens in either fishing or sports, not something like this. These are nothing but parasites trying to steal what isn't theirs.

With this particular cargo, there is no way that any of the pirates will make it to shore with anything. At least I freaking hope that to be the case.
