I think the language thing is an extreme for the most part. However I have heard a French-Canadian person tell a Belgian-French French teacher to learn how to speak French. lol Kind of like a fork telling a spoon how to hold soup.
Anyway, I think Quebec is a pretty province and MOST of the people are nice. It is politicians and bureaucrats that make situations unpalatable. The flatlands, on the other hand have lots of nice people, but boring countryside. hehe
As far as French language being lost, that's hardly likely. My pop-in-law speaks Anishinaabemowin and the natives have been oppressed into losing their cultures a lot worse than the French.
There's no contest between who has been oppressed more. It's obvious the Natives have had much worse than anyone else in Canada. That doesn't take away the possibility for Quebecers to protect their language. We've taken that right and it's working (relatively). If the rest of Canada has a problem with that, there doesn't seem to be much it can do about it. It's our province, we'll have the laws we want.
