Canada is a land of exporters, oil, lumber, wheat... so what would happen if we start saying lets just buy Canadian goods.. protectionist.

Other countries would start tossing up barriers, duties and tarriffs.. Canada would be in a worse position that it is now economically.

That is not to say, you should not be proud and buy Canadian made goods when possible (furniture, clothing, etc.). Just not to adopt the attitude that we can support our own economy and screw the world.

As another more positive example. You will see people pay great amounts of money for art thay we could have painted in the back yard for $20. This is because these buyers know that that artist had a great attitude that was agreeable with there own. They will bring that artwork into their home and it will add to their energy power and increase it.

Don't think the rich and famous don't know about this and use it to their advantage. this is why they are rich and famous.

OK, I guess I should back up my claim to interest in Canada by putting my money where my mouth is. You were asking for everyone to buy Canadian. So I did. I ordered River of Thieves. Actually it sounds pretty good, and I do like historical fiction. Thank you for the recommendation.

Boomette,
Say, my Canadian friend tells me that some things that are made in Canada are much cheaper to Canadians. When she goes home, she stocks up on those things. I know one of them is a certain chocolate. Since you all have had years to peruse the internet markets - what say you?
