Easy with the friendly fire there LW, I am not a cheer leader for the Jews but if you are suggesting me defending the Jews is wrong then lets hope that humanity will go for ever eating his brother or his sister, if fact lets not defend the Jews lets kill them all and humanity will be a better place, or if that is to harsh, lets HURT THEM SOME BECAUSE THEY ARE JEWS. No.............this is a recipe to a third world war. If the Iranians push on to exterminate the Jews a Nuclear holocaust will take place in the Middle East during the next 5 - 10 years. You can knock me all you want the truth is that Israel has the right to survive as a small nation, in harmony with the Arab world, but the question lay’s squarely on the Arab camp DO YOU WANT TO SEE PEACE ? LEAVE ISRAEL ALONE!!!!!!! Very simple LW.

Keep in mind that you would feel threatened if you lived in a land were your back was facing the sea and your face was facing the enemy the snake with many heads, 640 times the land mass then that of Israel and outnumber the Jews of Israel by nearly 50 to 1. So much for Arab propaganda! Trust me LW you would be sweating you know what.....
In Canada we don’t have a problem like that thank God...........

Sock ... all I'm telling you is the truth is NOT entirely Israel's story not is it Islam's. All you have to do is open your eyes and see it. There were few troubles in the many generations Jewish people lived side by side with their Arab neighbours. It was only when unfriendly newcomers began to arrive that distrust then hatred began to take root. Who started it? Who cares! Neither camp is big on compromise.

Here is your question:

''Do you believe Israeli politicians? A simple yes or no answer will do ''

If you want a different answer, be very specific as to whom you are referring to and which words were used.

Let me simplify this for you Cannuck. The goph agrees with and/or believes anyone that supports his ideology. Everyone else, is lying through their eye teeth.

I figured as much. That is why I asked the question. It would appear that Gopher doesn't believe a word Olmert says unless he says something that reflects negatively on Israel....then it just has to be the gods honest truth.

It really shows how weak his position is.

For my part, I don't believe a word that comes out of any of their mouths. I don't know any of them personally so I can't vouch for their character. That and I think they are all to caught up in the history of the ME. Effective problem solving involves identifying the problem as the first step. From the Hamas charter:

"Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it." (The Martyr, Imam Hassan al-Banna, of blessed memory).
"The Islamic Resistance Movement believes that the land of Palestine is an Islamic Waqf consecrated for future Muslim generations until Judgement Day. It, or any part of it, should not be squandered: it, or any part of it, should not be given up. "
"There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad. Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are all a waste of time and vain endeavors."
"After Palestine, the Zionists aspire to expand from the Nile to the Euphrates. When they will have digested the region they overtook, they will aspire to further expansion, and so on. Their plan is embodied in the "Protocols of the Elders of Zion", and their present conduct is the best proof of what we are saying."

You can blame Israel if it helps you sleep at night and God knows (pun intended) they are not blameless but, unless Hamas reconsiders their core values, this will never end regardless of what Israel does or doesn't do.

If you don't believe anything that's OK. Yet, you appear to attribute all the problems there to Hamas. I gleaned this from your words, "unless Hamas reconsiders their core values''.

Now, if Israel accepted the one state solution would you still blame Hamas?

For the record, if a vote was taken tomorrow and Israel accepted the compromise, and Hamas did not, I would condemn Hamas for their failure to accept this permanent truce.

In fact, the entire world would have no choice.

Their core values being the termination of Israel and all those that occupy it. Ya, I'ld say they need to reconsider their core values.

 You've been pushing this inconcievable idea since I first read your words. It was as unlikely and convuluded then as it is now. It would still end the state of Israel and place all Israelis in jeapordy, by shear demographics.

For the record, if a vote was taken tomorrow and Israel accepted the compromise, and Hamas did not, I would condemn Hamas for their failure to accept this permanent truce.
Before Israel began waging war on "Palestine", Hamas was showing their idea of compromise. You just condone that sort of behavior.

Then consider this:

On October 3, 2001, I.A.P. News reported that according to Israel Radio (in Hebrew) Kol Yisrael an acrimonious argument erupted during the Israeli cabinet weekly session last week between Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and his foreign Minister Shimon Peres. Peres warned Sharon that refusing to heed incessant American requests for a cease-fire with the Palestinians would endanger Israeli interests and "turn the US against us. "Sharon reportedly yelled at Peres, saying "don't worry about American pressure, we the Jewish people control America."

To this day, the Israeli government has not denied this revelation.

Why would they refute it? It is idiotic.

BTW, you should get a look at Jan 15 Globe and Mail and look at the opinion column that speaks about the "arab Street". The guy make a VERY good case that even the Arab gov't of Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon etc are very quietly hoping the Israerlis kick the shyte right out of Hamas.....they have come to realize the greatest threat in the region is not Israel, but Islamo-fascist organizations that are the tool of lunatic Islamist Iran. (read Hezballah and Hamas)

Funny, the Arabs have long used the unfortunate Palestinians as a stick with which to beat Israel, now they use Israel as a stick to beat Palestinians.......and Iran.
