They probably suspended Avery so that Phaneuf or Iginla wouldn't be charged with assault after they crushed him during the game.;-)
Avery is such a tool. A shame that he is Canadian.

Yeah, I think you're right, as, if the nhl hadn't stepped in, and something
ugly happened, it would be on their heads.
San Jose won another game, have tied nhl record for points in first 25 games of
a season, they beat toronto
calgary lost, so both calgary and minnesota failed to pass vancouver for north
west division lead.
I think Turco was the only reason Calgary didn't win the game. He made a lot of good saves. The third goal was an empty-netter, so it was basically 2-1 until the end. Toronto ran into the monster known as San Jose. They are scary good right now. I look at someone playing Detroit and I see that game going either way. I see a team going against San Jose, and I see San Jose winning. Wow!8O
Montreal held on and beat Atlanto 5-4, and in a game that probably no one here really cares about, Phoenix beat Los Angeles 4-2.;-)
I think Montreal got a little lackidaisle with the lead, and it almost cost them. I don't think they have what it takes to win the Cup.
That could be, but San Jose has the advantage of playing as a "gelled" team from the get-go.
Look at Detroit for example. They picked up a new player and they are now worse off than they were last year(even though Hossa is playing well and is a good player).
I'm not saying Detroit won't make the playoffs, as they will, it's just that I don't think they will win the Cup this year.
And you are correct about their goaltending. Conklin and Osgood are not names to be feared. Conklin has been pulled a couple of times recently, and Osgood is average at best.
Yes they are. Crosby is a goal-scoring machine right now. The only issue they have is goaltending right now. Fleury is hurt and the one they are using right now has been hot and cold.
The days of the Cup dynasty are over. There are too many teams which bog things down. They could stand to lose some teams and I think the NHL would be better for it.
Well, it looks like Avery's time with Dallas is over for good. From the sounds of it they are planning on moving on, and what that means for Avery is anyone's guess. One thing is for sure, he won't be playing for Dallas again.
No, he won't be returning there, after all the comments made about him from
dallas players/management/coach, it's obvious they want to move on without
him.
Brett Hull was so foolish to insist on signing him to a 4 yr. 15 mil. contract, and
apparantly he was very alone in the idea, as he pushed to get him, against all
of his co workers. So, now there is rumour his job is in jeopardy, I wonder.
They should have signed him to a one year contract, and then see how he
behaves himself.
can't imagine any teams wanting him, but, you never know, stranger things
have happened, (i think).
Hull has also been quite lax on the duties he is supposed to be performing with his position(scouting, that sort of thing). I imagine we will see in the next couple of weeks whether or not he is "asked" to step down.
It looks like Pogge is going to get some playing time now, as Toskala is dealing with a sore groin(what is it with goalies and their hurt groins this year?8O). I hope he's ready, as Joseph is NOT a #1 goalie anymore.
