Yeah the chisling basturds used cheap plate I think or was it short cheap rivits or a combination there of. My point was I can't prove life after death does not exist for the same reason that I can't prove that it does. We need a volunteer to come forward for a dangerous mission in which he/she will be killed right away but carry a device into the void for us and come back or send back good video. I would consider it an honour to volunteer for the mission. I believe I can do it for just under three million.

Don't do it!! That would be suicide! :p

Why not read something other than Quran and Quran-related studies?

Near death experience - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Correct!

Incorrect!

This is what I say: there is much of such Near Death Experience.

And why do you, man, not hearken to the Glorious Quran? And you refer to the Wiki (and I don't object to this Wiki), but who wrote such articles? Aren't they some men with some experience and interest?

Still God knows the truth; and we believe in the life after death as part of the "unknown knowledge of the unseen"; this is in the Quran 2: 2-3

The explanation:
(That Scripture [: the Quran that had been written before revealing this aya], whereof there is no doubt, a guidance to those who ward off [God's punishment.]

Who believe in the Unseen, are steadfast in prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them.

And who believe in that [Quran] which is revealed to you [, Mohammed,] and that [heavenly book] which was revealed before you, and are certain of the Hereafter.

These have guidance from their Lord. These are the successful.)

Moreover, this experience Was it death or fainting? (Man after Death_ ) is only an incident that happened to a child; and it was not death, but some loss of consciousness or fainting.

DB, good morning
There have been many experiences related to such idea; some of such event are mentioned in the book Man after Death which I have translated and it is at this link:

Abu abd-Allah was a truthful man who did not lie; I knew him for many years before his death at 1991; he experienced such a spiritual experience when he was child and lost conciousness following a fall from a high bench, then his soul separated from his body and he stayed for one hour among the spirits, then he regained conciousness and told us his observations there: it is a nice tour as did he express it. Read it here:
Was it death or fainting?

And here is another story A story of fainting (1)

Thanks EA

quoting moha66 in bold:All life evolved in the presence of water, it's a very useful substance for metabolic processes, and it does affect different living things in different ways. Have you not noticed that vegetation differs quite a lot depending on how much and what kind of water is available? Plant a poplar tree in a cypress swamp and it'll die, plant a cypress tree on the prairie and it'll die...

Dear Dex:
Here’s just one piece of what the Koran says about that:

"Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were of one piece, then We parted them, and We made every living thing of water? Will they not then believe?" (Al-Anbiyaa : 30)

"Hast thou not seen how Allah wafteth the clouds, then gathereth them, then maketh them layers, and thou seest the rain come forth from between them; He sendeth down from the heaven mountains wherein is hail, and smiteth therewith whom He will, and averteth it from whom He will. The flashing of His lightning all but snatcheth away the sight." (An-Nur : 43)

You have quoted on me Gregor Mendel, Elementary probability theory and Samuel Taylor Coleridge. I too am a bit of an intellectual. You know, a believer is not necessarily someone who believes everything because he/she is told to. Consider these verses:

"Bethink thee of him who had an argument with Abraham about his Lord, because Allah had given him the kingdom; how, when Abraham said: My Lord is He who giveth life and causeth death, he answered: I give life and cause death. Abraham said: Lo! Allah causeth the sun to rise in the East, so do thou cause it to come up from the West. Thus was the disbeliever abashed. And Allah guideth not wrong doing folk. Or (bethink thee of) the like of him who, passing by a township which had fallen into utter ruin, exclaimed: How shall Allah give this township life after its death? And Allah made him die a hundred years, then brought him back to life. He said: How long hast thou tarried? (The man) said: I have tarried a day or part of a day. (He) said: Nay, but thou hast tarried for a hundred years. Just look at thy food and drink which have rotted! Look at thine ass! And, that We may make thee a token unto mankind, look at the bones, how We adjust them and then cover them with flesh! And when (the matter) became clear unto him, he said: I know now that Allah is Able to do all things. And when Abraham said (unto his Lord): My lord! Show me how Thou givest life to the dead, He said: Dost thou not believe? Abraham said: Yea, but (ask) in order that my heart may be at ease. (His Lord) said: Take four of the birds and cause them to incline unto thee, then place a part of them on each hill, then call them, they will come to thee in haste. And know that Allah is Mighty, Wise." (Al-Baqara : 258-260)

For a disbeliever these are just fairy-tales to be told to kids at bedtime. They cannot be proved empirically. But can SCIENCE prove everything empirically? How much do scientists know about the Universe? How much do they know about the seas? How much do they know about the human body? How much do they know about the human brain? Where were our honourable scientists when the credit crunch was in the making?

The point is, for some only what can be seen/touched/measured,etc. is true. What can't be proven empirically cannot possibly be true. For a believer, there are things that are beyond the human mind's capabalities. But to beieve in them you have to have some basic proofs. For example, the Koran says:

"And if ye are in doubt concerning that which We reveal unto Our slave (Muhammad), then produce a sura or the like thereof, and call your witnesses beside Allah if ye are truthful. And if ye do it not -and ye can never do it- enguard yourselves against the fire prepared for disbelievers, whose fuel is of men and stones." (Al-Baqara : 23-24)

"sura" is Arabic for chapter from the Koran. This argument is more than sufficient for me to believe in Allah and the Koran. I am a writer myself and a teacher. I know Arabic and Arabic literature. And I know that no one has ever "produced a sura or the like thereof". I know that today's technology has produced a machine (a highly sophisticated computer) that was able to defeat the then world chess champion, so -for those who are still in doubt- why don't they just build such a machine to produce a sura---just as they have built some stuff in Switzerland to make advanced tests on atoms?

Lastly, let me quote this, if I may:

"And if thy Lord willed, all who are in the earth would have believed together. Wouldst thou (Muhammad) compel men until they are believers? It is not for any soul to believe save by the permission of Allah."

Good luck to you.

There is no life after death, because we have no proof that there is...
There is no god because there is no proof that there is...
There are no prophets because there is no proof that there are...
There is no heaven or hell, because there is no proof that there is...

The torah/quran/bible is not authoritative for the above reasons...

People have divided concerning the sending to the afterlife and the resurrection:

Some denied it and others believed in it.

Those who believed in it, also divided: some of them said the sending is confined to souls not the bodies.
Others said the bodies will be resurrected together with the soul.

These ayat of the Quran, 78: 1-5

The explanation:
(About what are these [associaters and atheists] disputing!?

About the great theme!

Whereon they disagree.

No, [they are wrong, because souls do exist, and they will soon come to know [after their death, about spirits, angels, genies [: demons] and the ethereal world.]

Again no, [they are wrong, because they will be transmitted to the next world, and] they will soon come to know [that, after their death, when they will see the angels taking their souls out of their bodies and see the punishment with which they are threatened.] )

Here’s just one piece of what the Koran says about that
And you were the guy who claimed not to have a hidden agenda...
I really don't much care what the Koran says about anything. I can't read it in Arabic, and neither can the vast majority of the world's population, and as the Arabic version is the only authoritative one according to Islam, I don't see any value in a supposed divine message that's inaccessible to almost everybody. It may be divinely poetic in Arabic, I'll never know and I'm not going to take your word for it, you too obviously have the proselytizer's agenda. I've read several versions of it in English, and found it boring, repetitive, inconsistent, and full of errors of fact and logic.
But can SCIENCE prove everything empirically?
Of course not, it makes no such claim, and if you knew anything about science you wouldn't ask such a silly question.
How much do scientists know about the Universe? How much do they know about the seas? How much do they know about the human body? How much do they know about the human brain?
Quite a lot, actually, and more all the time.Your next question also indicates a large degree of ignorance about science.
Where were our honourable scientists when the credit crunch was in the making?
Probably doing science. Why would you expect scientists to be monitoring stuff like that and raising the alarm? That's a matter for economists and financial experts.

And some friendly advice: you won't score any points by using large, bold, brightly coloured fonts, quite the contrary. Such unnecessary over-emphasis is usually interpreted as shouting, and it puts people off. Saying something more loudly doesn't add to its legitimacy, and neither does the equivalent in text.

This will be my last reply about this subject; it is in the Quran 11: 28 and 34 telling about the words of Noah addressing his people:

The explanation:
(He said: "My people tell me your opinion: that
if I rely on an obvious [guidance depending on revelation] from my Lord, and He gave to me [the prophethood as] a blessing from Him,
and it has been obscured for you [so you have denied it, then what will your fate be?]

and shall we compel you to [recognize] it, the while to it you are averse?") ….

("And my sincere advising will not profit you, if I desire to advise you [more than that I have advised you],
if God wills to pervert you [because of your wrong-doing];
He is your Lord, and to His [sentence] you will be returned [after your death.]")

"I really don't much care what the Koran says about anything."

Nor do I about what atheists drivel about.

"and if you knew anything about science you wouldn't ask such a silly question."

If you knew anything about civilized dialogue you wouldn't post such a silly comment.

"Your next question also indicates a large degree of ignorance about science."

You may be somewhat more knowledgeable about science than many of us here, but I just don't care.

If not for the Church of Rome, this would have happened 400 years ago...

Vanni Fucci, about the Church of Rome. They recently admitted they were wrong in persecuting Galileo; it took them 500 years to admit their mistake.

I assume it will take them another 500 years to admit that they are wrong in persecuting gays today.

Galileo protest halts pope's visit - CNN.com

In the letter, academics -- pointing to a speech the pope gave at the same university as a cardinal in 1990 -- claimed he condones the 1633 trial and conviction of the scientist Galileo for heresy.

Vanni Fucci, that may be. But a few years ago I remember hearing it on the news (I would say within the past 4 or 5 years), that the Catholic Church admitted its mistake and said it was wrong to persecute Galileo.

Vatican recants with a statue of Galileo -Times Online

Interestingly, this article was written about 2 1/2 months after the first one I posted...

Perhaps the protests at that Italian university caused the Vatican to reassess their position?
