Perhaps your question should include, how many of you HAD partners you HAD that you loved and adored ?

Two would be my answer..

The first left me for a drug addict and passed away 2 years later from doing the drugs he got her hooked on. I happen to see him the other day walking around the streets like a zombie wondering how many lives he has wrecked ?

The second left me because she had no idea why she could no longer live here 8O.. We had just bought the house, had the baby and things were thought but life was still very bright.. When I got a job that upped my salary she asked if I would take her back to the fine answer of "Nope".. Sorry but I only play second fiddle to MONEY once..

awwww heck, that sux big time.. so sad ..

sometimes people attract the same type that doesn't work out... Take from those two relationships the growth you got, move forward to brighter pastures and next time around "just let it happen" ... Don't wear your heart on your sleeve...

and that wraps up my agony aunt comments ...

Everyday is a great day and nothing can take that away.. I never look back, but reality is what it is..

I am looking at new futures however.. :p

It's men and women chasing each other that makes up the human race. Like the book sez: Men are from Mars and women are from Venus. What the title overlooks is this battlefield we chose called Earth

All I learned is to say yes dear its all my fault, then go about what ever it was I planed anyway. They always forgive you on payday and often the quiet in between is quite pleasant. My first wife's father refused to take her back saying the warranty was 30 minutes or 30 feet. That was the only time I ever saw him run.
Life is much simpler now that I know I am always wrong and don't bother arguing about it.

lonewolf you do make some very good comments. I love that book, have read it a few times over the years. It's a good read and a sensible read... and makes great sense!

Why is it that women can understand men better than men can understand women?
I don't think that's true. What women know about men is about as much as men know about women. I think the real issue is that each expects the other to be more like themselves than they are, and serious disputes arise when they discover that's not true and they have to figure out what adjustments are necessary and who's going to make them.
What about the woman confuses you most?
Two things. First, they seem incapable of not talking if there's anyone within hearing distance, even when there's nothing to say. Second, I have yet to meet a woman who knows that understanding does not imply agreement. A lot of men don't get that one either, but the number's not zero, as it seems to be with the women in my life. "You don't understand." "Yes I do, but I think you're wrong." That exchange does not compute in the female minds I've encountered.
For those guys in a relationship with a woman, what do you do to keep her happy?
I don't feel responsible for her happiness, and she's not responsible for mine either. I try to avoid making her unhappy, but I'm not going to hold back on doing or saying something that might make her unhappy if it's important enough to me. Some things, probably most things actually, aren't worth fighting about, and after 30 years together we rarely argue about anything. But some things certainly are worth fighting about. The other option is to turn into a doormat. Trying to keep somebody else happy is a fool's game, can't be done except as a complete self-sacrifice, and it won't work anyway.

Jack Layton the leader of the NDP said that beavers are ferocious animals and when he is in the bush he is afraid to come accross one because beavers like to bite.

Since I am not in the NDP I just don't know what he meant by that statement

It is quite simple. Taliban Jack is a socialist and as such he expects someone else to do the heavy lifting for him. Being a logger I never had a problem being in the bush. I just make a clear cut.

As far as I have been able to tell so far, there is no difference between men and women that cannot be explained by the fact that baby girls are slapped in pink and baby boys in blue.

"Yes Dear" ain't like ctrl/alt/del

That reminds of one thing i know about women. They don't forget anything. It could be ten years down the road and that one thing that really upset her will come boiling to the surface and she will pound you over the head with it until you are unconscious.;-)

My wife surprises me once in awhile (generally during a big argument) with that trait. Memory like a f......g trap
