If he can't define real numbers, how can I know how inaccurate these numbers are?

Why should he? It always fascinates me that some people post hogwash and expect those that disagree to go out and disprove their hogwash. To go out and surf the net and find links, etc. that will either not be read or not taken as proof.

Do you think he gives a farg what you need to know?

Q: You're pretty specific about how many died in atrocities, even if they happened thousands of years ago. Can you really quantify the effects of long-ago events like conflicts and the collapses of civilizations?

A: Within limits you can. There are records that go back, and a lot of them are based on things like money – tax records, for instance. There are suddenly fewer people after a war.

Archaeology is another way. If one layer of the past has a thriving civilization, and a war comes through and the next layer is pretty empty, you can get into the area of numbers, whether it's tens of millions or hundreds of thousands.

It's just the silly 's' after http. If you delete the 'https' from the original and hit 'enter' on youtube, it'll give you a fresh page but the addy will just start with 'www' instead. ;-)

Northern Ontario,
You can ask DaS for more - he's reading the book.
That will take a long while.......it's a thousand bloody pages.....full of reference links.........no charts......thank God........... it's not a novel where it gets so interesting that you can't lay the book down.

I'd rather have our local Historian, Colpy, read it and give us a Readers' Digest version..

So I guess killing someone today isn't nearly the atrocity that it was back when someone wrote 'thou shalt not kill'. aw heck, it shouldn't be anything more than a misdemeanour - I mean geez, someone should get a lollipop for not killing two people!
