Well, he raised the bar for gluttony, depravity and cruelty, showed his contempt for the old Roman Republic by appointing his horse to the Senate, began the invasion of Britain, and added the provinces Thrace, Noricum, Pamphylia, and Judea to the Empire. The Germans kicked his ***.

I always assume achieve is positive. I forget that it isn't an implication.

Lord Dampnuts could well be his own kind of caligula...

Trump Responds to the Judge Who Stopped His Muslim Ban in the Pettiest Way Possible

In one tweet among a series fired off on Saturday, President Donald Trump attacked a federal judge’s credibility for temporarily stopping his Muslim ban.

Trump referred to U.S. District Judge James Robart as a “so-called judge” for his decision that he said would “take law enforcement away from our country.” However, Robart is by no means a liberal activist, having been appointed to his position by George W. Bush in 2003 and unanimously confirmed by the Senate on a 99-0 vote. Trump promised to “overturn” the judge’s decision, though he didn’t elaborate on how he would go about doing that.

The opinion of this so-called judge, which essentially takes law-enforcement away from our country, is ridiculous and will be overturned!

On Friday night, Judge Robart ruled in favor of Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson, granting a national restraining order on Trump’s executive order that indefinitely bans all immigration from seven Muslim countries and halts the U.S. refugee resettlement program for four months. Ferguson filed for the restraining order on the ground that the White House was discriminating against Muslims with the immigration ban, and violating their constitutional rights.

“The Constitution prevailed today,” Ferguson said in a press conference on the federal courthouse steps. “No one is above the law — not even the president.”

The Trump administration can rename NAFTA the North American Free and Most Fairest of Them All Trade Agreement, but given that NAFTA is packed with incentives to offshore jobs and special protectionist goodies for various industries, NAFTA must be replaced – not tweaked – to actually deliver better outcomes for working people.

Replacing NAFTA is important, but with China counting for half of the U.S. trade deficit, it is odd that Trump has not announced an end to negotiations almost completed by the Obama administration for a U.S.-China bilateral agreement that includes the job offshoring incentives at the heart of NAFTA or declared China a currency manipulator on his first day as promised.

It’s ironic that Trump is the beneficiary of the “Fast Track” trade authority narrowly enacted by congressional supporters of NAFTA. By delegating away its constitution trade authority, Congress has empowered Trump to unilaterally launch NAFTA renegotiations or create new bilateral deals with Mexico and Canada; determine the contents, sign and enter into deals before Congress gets a vote; and then write implementing legislation and force congressional consideration in 90 days with amendments forbidden and Senate supermajority rules suspended.

Under the Fast Track rules, Trump needed to have given notice on Monday, Jan. 31, to be able to start NAFTA renegotiations within his first 100 days as promised.

Why did Republicans confirm Betsy DeVos as Secretary of Education despite her having absolutely zero relevant experience or credentials? We have a few suggestions:

And Trump's opposition isn't spreading fear by predicting all the harm he's going to do?
You just continue to ignore the obvious. Run to the shelter of your mother's little helper.

that is almost exactly the way I had it figured too. (although I had not worked out the torture scenario as well as you have ;-)

Hmm. wonder if Trump would like t have a go at doing the torture himself??
Yeah, I guess you and CC forgot about the US supplying Iraq with chemical weapons capability during the Iran/Iraq War. Or the fact that Saddam used his chemical weapons to attack the Kurds in northern Iraq. Or the fact they unearthed around 2000 chemical warheads in 2004-05.
But yeah, Iraq had no WMDs.
