We are tied to the American hip, when they 'fall over' we will be on the bottom of the pile. How did you imagine it would go?
I didn't imagine anything. I just accept what is, adapt to it, and move on. Hubby's the one that goes by the motto "hope for the best but expect the worst".

If (when, rather than if) the USD bites the dust we will be chocking on it also. The US and Canada can open up as many embassies and bid on as many new contracts as they like but it will be China/India/Russia that will be signing on the dotted line. When you go and blow up a country you don't get the contracts to rebuild it also. That is so last century it's funny to think it would ever happen again.

In this case it is, 'Cheer up Canada things could be worse.' (so we cheered up and sure enough things got worse) Which is better, speak up now before you are a refugee or once you are a refugee. (when nobody is listening as like these days)
Any refugee who is let in has a story to tell, one that is worth money after a war crimes trial and guilty verdict. The x-ISIS members would probably have the best stories and they probably sing like a canary if the price is right.

There IS a harder currency that you can hold, instead...

You forgot your wallet.

Hey, a 61¢ dollar worked for the Libs to keep manufacturing alive.

For a douchebag like mentalflaws who bitched about dutch disease from one corner of his mouth and bitches about how expensive it is getting to buy a Chinese made clue priced in USD off ebay out the other corner all while turning his back on Canadian retailers selling clues is mind boggling for the the reality bound.

You are 't like that are you boomski?

Sure you do, the flushing sound is the USD and after it is flushed it starts to stink real fast. BTW it was mould that was the toxin, you afraid to promote that as being harmless in fear of being pointed out as be the most stupid person in the room? You should try it as you are a bit shy of being enlightened in what some drugs can do to you.

We are not in recession and no where near a depression much as the freeloading socialists would like to put us there.

The manufacturing operation that employesme was established in 1985. We are having an histortical peak busy year on three separate manfacturing lines. The roads are jammed, Property values continue to go up. The malls are full. The stores are full. The industrial malls are not full but they are still pretty full.

I think that this catastrophic recession that is supposed to have hit us in Onario is just somne good tidings and wishful thinking from the other side of the country. There is a myth out there, perpetuated by some jerkwater populists, that somehow we don't pay our way and that we instead live of of the available of the resource extractors out west.

It is nonsense.

You are drowning in denial. The biggest currency war ever has been underway for at least a year and more than one country will be crushed noteably the newly made deadbeats to our south (USA) and we will enter the drain several millimeters behind them. When is your next Flat Earth Club convention?

Canada is now $0.75 of a U.S. dollar!!

But to buy a U.S. Dollar cost $0.36 Canadian per U.S. Dollar.

Funny how this is suppose to help Canadian manufacturers. Has anyone told Harper out manufacturing has moved to China?

That's how math works. Our dollar is worth 75 U.S. cents. So to buy a U.S.$ is going to cost us 1.33 Canadian $ plus whatever the bank feels like taking to make the transaction.

From what I see every day, we are nowhere near a recession. Just look at what the people you see down town spending their money. The casino is generally at least 1/2 full, the tattoo parlours are prospering, all the fast food joints are busy, people are hiring taxis, high end stores like the H.B.C. are booming, the banks are making huge profits, people are still buying high grade beef from Safeway at exorbitant prices- like $40 for a roast.

Notice Harper is the only western leader to stand up to putin? No wonder the left hates Harper, he insulted their hero.

Maybe if something was to happen to Pukin, like someone maybe arrange a sudden heart attack, the problems with Syria may become more manageable.
