Here is a photo of a hatchling before wings sprouted.

I know that some rogue dragons were responsible for a rash of forest fires in the national parks.
This one had no wings and didn't breath fire. She was very docile. I had a feeling she might be the last of her kind in BC.
I met an old man from Castlegar, just after I saw her, that says he saw one down by the banks of the Columbia when he was much younger.

Truly sad.
As a child in a small prairie town, when it rained heavily and cisterns filled, the small Western Dragons would be forced to crawl out of their cistern lairs and wander aimlessly in the grass next to foundations. I haven't seen one for decades. This species may be extinct.

Your photo captures its erect mane; it must have been startled.

It was last rites (note spelling), and the Caflicks call that the Sacrament for the Sick these days.
(note lack of caring about spelling) Might be different if the trapped victim was asking for a Priest. I would probably be attempted to ask the Priest to at least wait till I was dead. Probably not in the nicest terms either. How many times he visit the people at the accident site?

sacrament for the sick is not for the dead or necessarily even the dying although quite often that is when it is requested

Like I keep saying, the entire Bible can be rendered down to two useful items, the "do unto others" bit and the "love thy neighbor" bit. The rest is part fact, part fiction pulp.
You sure you got the 'complete message'. Read the' headlines only' kind of Bible scholar would seem to be your path through the book.

You don't really expect me to take you seriously (in your wisdom about the Bible) do you?
The deal is you treat strangers as if they were friends and actual help is required ove a pile of empty words. If you are going to knock it at least get the reasons right.

1Co:5:9:
I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:
1Co:5:10:
Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world,
or with the covetous,
or extortioners,
or with idolaters;
for then must ye needs go out of the world.
1Co:5:11:
But now I have written unto you not to keep company,
if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator,
or covetous,
or an idolater,
or a railer,
or a drunkard,
or an extortioner;
with such an one no not to eat.

Jas:2:15:
If a brother or sister be naked,
and destitute of daily food,
Jas:2:16:
And one of you say unto them,
Depart in peace,
be ye warmed and filled;
notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body;
what doth it profit?

M't:5:46:
For if ye love them which love you,
what reward have ye?
do not even the publicans the same?
M't:5:47:
And if ye salute your brethren only,
what do ye more than others?
do not even the publicans so?

I'm quite content to watch the blind lead the blind in circles around here.

My point is the Clergy is not part of a first responders.

but if a minister/priest were passing by any accident scene it would be normal for them to see if they could assist in a spiritual way or give comfort, no?...as it happened she had just requested they pray with her, he appeared and did so

Not finding any flaws? lmao
Initial flaw: ASSuming there was a magician in the first place.
Secondary flaw: losing reasoning ability
Secondary flaw: developing irrational bias
etc.
etc.

The ones who stick with assumptions even after the reality has been uncovered.
Wow, what a finely detailed explanation? With 'Sherlock abilities' of that magnitude it is no wonder this is you best and clearest reply.

Not only are we not even on the same page, we aren't even in the same reality.

I haven't latched onto any version of the flood story except the one that says it didn't happen and the tales that have come down to us about it reflect at best large scale but still localized flooding at scattered times and places around the world. Many cultures have a flood story, but they're not correlated in time or location, they simply reflect the fact that if you live near water long enough, some day you'll experience a flood. There is no scientifically legitimate current historical model of a flood that covered all the land on the planet, there's no evidence that ever happened. If there had been one any time since humans left the illiterate hunter-gatherer stage there would be clear signs of it everywhere, the geologists would have established the fact long ago. The evidence is not found, therefore it didn't happen.
Not my fault you gave up the ability to think for yourself.

Ge:2 sets out a defined block of land that has 4 borders. Adam is said to have lived in that area and in naming the animals they were all brought to Adam by God. It never says the animals ever went back to their original homes and in the fall and the next 1500+ `years they remained within the 4 borders. If you look at the globe all land masses are true islands with vast distances between areas yet the dominate lifeforms are all based on a few 'base models'. Without flooding there shout be a lot of diversity in species rather than just a few odd ones and the remainder fit into the same classifications that are all 'quite recent' on the evolution record and adaptation to local climatic conditions is the best answer for what there are many minor variations within a single classification.

In the scab-lands of the Pacific Northwest was the lake formed just my melt-water or did rains help create the lake?

You do know the main topic of the flood was not to punish the 4 legged beast but to fully exterminate the 'giants' and bury some fallen angels. If you don't use that as the base then you won't get one thing right. Page two of the bible gives you a mystery to solve right off the start. Why two creation stories that are 'mildly different'? Job:14 covers death and a resurrection, Isaiah 66 mentions a new earth. The 3 references are needed before an explanation presents itself. Ge:12 the the new earth in Re:22 and Adam's children are not mentioned in Ge:2 because the number that will enter the new earth is only determined on the day the 7th trump sounds. No children will be born between the trump and Re:22, but then you knew that because you have read the Bible and understand all there is to know about it. Right? lol

So now it's 'local flooding' rather than an extinction level event. The Bible also has a ready answer for why there are so many ancient monuments and no human record of ever being able to build such places, let alone with ease.

Go ahead convince me the modern explanation is reeking with proven scientific explanations. Here is a simple structure.

Actually it's because I can think for myself that I know you're wrong to think the Bible is literally true, correct, accurate, and consistent. It's none of those things, and if you could think clearly you'd see that, instead of wasting so much of your time and energy trying to reconcile it with reality. Just imagine what you could have become if you'd invested all that effort in something constructive and useful. The Bible's not what you think it is, it's not an accurate description of the past and a guide to the future, you've wasted probably tens of thousands of hours, an effort equivalent to several post graduate degrees, by assuming that's what it is and trying to figure out what it all means. You're an intellectual tragedy.

Dex, all 'my work' was done as a 'hobby' it didn't cost me a cent in expenditures or a nickle in lost wages. My time wasn't wasted because I can pick the book up and open it almost anywhere and start reading and all the words in a passage have some sort for meaning that is related to other things written somewhere in the Bible. I'm pretty comfortable

No matter the amount of time you have spent with 'thinking about Scripture' when it come to questions you have lots and answers you have a clean slate. One of us has wasted their time and it wasn't me, you won't get anything out of the thread but I will and it doesn't damage my view of the Bible at all. I do question why so many non-believers flock to the religious threads cause that seem to be a tad dysfunctional really.

Nope, not sure. Don't care either.

Never claimed to be a Biblical scholar, not even a novice scholar.

You don't really expect me to take you seriously (in your wisdom about the Bible) do you?
Don't care. I can't take you seriously, so it may be mutual.
The deal is you treat strangers as if they were friends and actual help is required ove a pile of empty words. If you are going to knock it at least get the reasons right.
You know my reasons for helping people? Explain them then, please.

I've noticed that religionists have only one way of viewing things, through the filter of their religiosity. Sad to say, that's pretty limiting.

I'm quite content to watch the blind lead the blind in circles around here.
Ok, Mr. Pot

Ya think? Wondering what possessed you to think that is not common knowledge.

Thanks for the confirmation of my points.

So does science. In some cases, science has figured out more ways than one of how some have been built and just hasn't decided which
method was used.
But then, it's never said, "some goofy magician did it".

Go ahead convince me the modern explanation is reeking with proven scientific explanations. Here is a simple structure.

Oh, get a grip. You know as well as anyone else that you wouldn't (maybe even couldn't) accept any other explanation than the mystical, magical one.

As usual, you miss the point entirely, which was really about what economists call opportunity cost: the resources devoted to some activity means you can't devote them to any other activities, they're lost opportunities. You clearly have a scholarly bent, you could have done something useful with that instead of spending your talents trying to force Bronze Age mythologies to fit what we now know about the world, but that's a lost opportunity. Your basic premise about what the Bible is, is wrong, so all the analyses and conclusions that follow from it are nonsense, and all the time and energy you put into it is for naught. I've no doubt you're perfectly comfortable because you'll never accept that you might be wrong, but it doesn't change the fact that all your efforts have generated nothing sensible or believable.

As usual the point is banned from discussion as soon as you get 'uncomfortable' or 'stumped' or 'both'. Supernatural is a requirement before you can claim to be any kind of God.

1Co:15:32:
If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus,
what advantageth it me,
if the dead rise not?
let us eat and drink;
for to morrow we die.

The bible is not a book about the economy, although it's banking rules are spelled out in less than one page and it would work flawlessly for a long time in the good years and in the not so good.

You say I have a bit of talent that could have had good results if it was applied to something you consider useful. A lot of people have been trying to understand the bible for a very long time, you even made a modest attempt some time ago and failed to what I'm claiming to have done. It isn't even all that complicated in it's explanation that comes more than 20 years after starting the exercise (without there being any such intention) I already explained that to you just recently. Read the first and last three chapters and use that as the base for who God is.

All the other stuff has to all be included if you are going to reference any of it as it all applies to verse Ge:3:15.

You can't even do a summary for the 6 chapters. Everybody fails and everybody is picked up by God and they never fail again because they become constant companions. If you don't understand that part it is you who have wasted their time with the Bible, maybe I got more out (eventually) because I put more into it, simple math that can be shown to have similar results in any task that requires investigative talents.

Investigation takes checking out each proposed item to as far as it can be done. That is the same anyplace.

If I show up at the doctor's with all the symptoms of altitude sickness, yet I have not been climbing should I get the medication on the shelf that says, for mountain sickness? (when it turns out that the home was a place where those symptoms originated from because of a mixture of unhealthy gases and no in-depth studies have been done in that area)

What a shame you don't actually have the power to do anything about it.

Locutus is the most active mod on the board. Why don't you whine to him?
I already pointed out he doesn't even know he just defined himself as a classic troll. I find it amusing that he is too stupid to realize that and you want me to report him for being amusing? Maybe you two should be riding together.

On occasion, though, being human, and especially when some er um uh human comes up with the really stupid crap, I might slip a little.

Nope. It's fun. I don't have to convince myself that something's fun. I can feel it. And the more surreal the silliness gets, the more fun I have.

I gather, that from your perspective, that believing in God or miracles, is the same as believing in Santa Claus so constantly arguing with a three year old or an undeveloped adult that still believes in Santa would not be beneath you and you would consider that fun..?
Great.....I'm finally getting it....
