Just heard on C.B.C. radio that he was returned to his home at 3:00 this morning. This is better than Christmas folks!
That's fantastic! What a relief those boy's parents must feel right now. Heck, I feel so relieved right now!
He would be safer to turn himself in right now,if the elk valley boys get ahold of him now there wont be much left to prosecute.I am glad the kid is safe and all, not expected. Not sure what he has endured during his abduction,
I can't help but wonder how the perpetrator was able to get undetected access to the house a second time.
Pretty wild,we had choppers out looking also as our job got shut down because of an incident.
Good news this morning though, good job also to all the volunteers and the gals who got together and kept all the search partys well fed.
Someones got some explaining to do about the person of interest,he was caught squatting on someones land here about 2 weeks ago,he was arrested and released even though he is a known sex offender. The place he was squatting at was sentinel or what we call the crowsnest lakes right on the Alberta side of the border. He had lots of stolen goods at the cabin he was squatting at and lots of porn. The guy was also known to have tried to abduct another kid for 3800 dollars to supposedly reunite the kid with his natural parents.
So why was he released?
Ya,Sparwood has had it's share of tragedies,I worked with Angela Jardines dad in the mine there. Her remains were found on the Pickton farm. How some of these nutbars survive so long before they get caught remains a mystery to me.Now there's a second quandary - whoever did it deserves to be shot, but if the sentence is too harsh, then kidnappers in the future will just kill the kid if he feels he has nothing to lose. Anyway today is just a day to rejoice, tomorrow we can start worrying about the other ramifications.

Oh ya,The rcmp have gone right on tv and pleaded with him to turn himself in.Is it safe to say yet if the perpetrator is who they think it is?
I was doing work on the powerline going into BC last week so we had 4 choppers flying around and a hundred guys in the bush and hundreds of volunteers searching. We also had the forestry helitack guys and lookout towers watching the bush. How he stayed undetected for so long is amazing and also that he slipped in to town to return the kid.
Glad he did though, shows he has some rational thought left in him.
Not sure whats going on but theres choppers flying grid searches here now in the pass and probably Sparwood too as it's ony 20 minutes away in B.C.
Had a couple hovering over my little town for about an hour so the hunt is on.
Maybe just a big waste of money, probably better just to relax, one thing for sure, that car is going to need gas soon and as soon as he arrrives at a gas station with the car or a Jerry can...........................BINGO.
There's a reason he's hiding out in southeast BC/southwest AB...... they ain't too smart down that way.
