None of this supports your assertion of a hidden socialist agenda...

Sure it does... The simple fact that you regurgitate the same ole pap over and over again in a puny attempt to repackage it is proof enough for this capitalist

There are many issues to consider in designing fiscal policies to mitigate climate change:

How about the issue that human induced global warming (opps, make that 'climate change') simply doesn't exist in the grandiose fashion that you wish it to be

- the appropriate tax level and base, and the treatment of traded goods;

Let the developing nations that the UN/IMF want to transfer my money worry about developing their own economy and taxing their own industry... That's a helluva good start

- the role of complementary policies—such as clean technology research, development, and deployment policies;

NorAm is the leader in this area... Mission accomplished

- the balance between carbon and other taxes in financing the government’s budget and how to use the additional revenues;

No need for a carbon tax or any other kind of eco tax. AGW is an imaginary problem. If you tards want to voluntarily shell-out, fill yer boots bud.

Another problemo solved

- the treatment of forestry and other non-energy emissions; and

Let's see... Our forestry is regulated up the ying-yang and from what I recall, the brain at the UN thought it was too inconvenient to allow Canada credit for having the world's largest boreal forest.

Silly for you to even include that comment

- how to address impacts on vulnerable households and firms.

What does that even mean?

Hell, I'm still waiting for a meaningful definition of 'climate change' that has any teeth whatsoever

Factsheet -- Climate, Environment, and the IMF

Ohhhh... A 'factsheet' from the Politburo.... Looks like the debate MUST be over this time

Not subways he walks into.....it's trains......

the tax of 0.002% of our GDP that goes to UNDEP has accomplished what for whom?

What would more do?

We could come to grips with climate change by migrating south, or toughing it out by capturing snow shovel and parka markets. Who in fork wants to get stuck with a vault full of carbon credits?

A lot of people were encourage to go into debt to upgrade to carbon credit emission levels which were to offset the capital costs. Well that all went to Hell in a handbasket didn't it?

omg I'm so sorry

that was an accidental greenie lol

You can reduce emissions without redistributing wealth.

not while importing hundreds of thousands of people a year you can't.

I wish the green party would come out of the closet on that fact and get on with it.

I wish you would provide substantive evidence showing why each territory would redistribute its own wealth as a means to combat climate change?

I get it now...

Capitalist emitters = increase in global warming
Socialist emitters = the only salvation for the world

Both options don't change anything other than people pay yet another tax

Yes but only evil rich western capitalist pigs get to pay extra taxes for their own good. Communist and extreme socialists would as usual get a free ride.

Doesn't capitalism redistribute wealth also?

You bet it does. We all benifit from capitalism according to how mush we invest in it. Not necessarily money but time. In fact even the freeloaders benifit from capitalism since without it there would be no worker bees to tax the s hit out of.

The poor are collateral to the IMF if you don't have national parks to lose like we did.

Apparently if you don't have parks for collateral, they will build them for you to hold as collateral.

Can you feel it? Can you feel that green love?

From the Mountains to the Sea: Investing in Haiti's Environmental Resources - a Cause for Optimism - UNEP

I'll bet my left nut those parks are where their gold deposits sit.

All safe, sound and green.Climate change.....keeping the poorest of the poor, poor.

Does it feel good? Does it feel green?

Read his post again.

To go into the recycled talking points and generalized tripe is beyond banal.

Climate change costs will come down greatly once the Swampies admit that "climate change" has been a big con and they are going to rid the world of all their useless but expensive "green technologies" that make our energy bills very expensive for no good reason.

Simples.

Or, at least, it should be.
