And the day that the United States of America spends a proportional amount on its war machine as that spent by nearly all other nations on the planet combined....your sentiment is fundamentally flawed.

That's right.....the world would be SO much better off if America's power ceased to exist, and we were left with China as the world's super-power.

Mikey, you should fall to your knees every night and thank Almighty God that, if there is to be a military super-power on earth (and there always will be), that it is the USA.

How fortunate for the world.

If you doubt that, take a closer look at number two....

Unfortunately, everything is relative.

You may like the position of being on your knees to the bully with the club...I don't.

The same attitude that accepts that criminals wearing white hoods and riding horses around...burning crosses on "niggers" lawns and lynching them...

The same attitude that accepts that it's "pre-emptive" peace-keeping to launch cruise missiles into the Sudan....

The same attitude that interposes itself in South East Asia where the people were fighting the Chinese....

The same attitude that calls for blockades and embargoes when the price of sugar goes up or some nation wants the same "nuclear deterent" as the bully....

Get comfortable on your knees.

Check this out.

Actually as a percent of their lousy GNPs many nations have spent as a proportion far more.

This shows you their proclivity, if they had the chance, to be far worse than the one bogeyman you focus on.

And you may choose to consider what a Stalin or Mao would have done with the same size war machine ?

Your one truth is blinding you to other equally dangerous truths.

The U.S. has imposed sanctions on Iran before, It didn't work then and it won't work now. Conventional warfare is an archaic concept, these people have cells everywhere and their reach is global. if the States issues a declaration of war they will probably start razing U.S.assets all over the world. No amount of policing will prevent them from blowing up embassies, military bases, pipelines etc. If you think oil is high now just wait. you'll have to kill them all because they're zealots and won't submit to anyone but their God.

And please inform us all of the frequency of the utilization of these war machines you've pointed out. Who has been more prepared to embargo other nations...who has been more prepared to call for naval blockades ...who has sent emissaries to nations all over the world espousing the "prudence" of building missile-defense shields"....who has demonstrated more repeatedly and with great enthusiasm than has the United States that might makes right....

Who would you fear more, the person who has arms and demonstrated a limited control over their impulses to dictate to the world utilizing those arms and that arsenel or the person who has arms but reserves them for defense against an aggressor?

Guess what....America is an aggressor despite claiming its expenditures on bombs and bullets is for "defense"....

Okay, let's obliterate the US like you wish.

Then what, MikeyDB ?

Oooo Ooooo!!! I got this one:

All the world will unite into one giant peaceful nation, drugs would become legal, guns would be illegal, all countries would disarm nukes and convert their power for high speed space exploration, food on everybody's table, homes over every head, jobs for all, technological advancements would sky rocket us into a new era, and the human species will evolve into floating matter, using our minds to do our everyday needs.

:p

Excellent point and observation! While America sits on enough nuclear weapons to destroy mankind many times over..... It has demonstrated through many examples that the way to inculcate destruction and premeditate the collapse of its "enemies" is by stealth infliltration of governments and facilities ...undermining regimes and putting a stranglehold on a nations right to serve their own interests before succumbing to the interests of America. From Nicaragua to East Timor to well....many many places, America has supplied weapons to the factions it considered"helpful" it has erected military bases and maintained military in many nations around the world..... Perhaps when a catastrophy that makes the 9/11 atrocity pale in comparison hits the U.S. it will reconsider its provocative militarism.

It's unlikely though, since Americans are more than prepared to sacrifice its youth to the greed of American business enterprise.

Well let's see here.... the US has used it's wonderful power to invade two soverign nations so far and is looking to invade a 3rd.... the last time I heard of China invading another country was Tibet.

Mikey, you should fall to your knees every night and thank Almighty God that, if there is to be a military super-power on earth (and there always will be), that it is the USA.

Oh fok sakes.... I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit there.

Wouldn't that be swell!

If only we could ignore how much the people of America have prospered while so many of the rest of the world grappled with the oppressors sent by America to assure Mr. and Mrs. America of their oil and food and wealth. If only we could reverse the destruction of the planet by a people so focused on consuming everything in sight as their inalienable "right". If only we could ....

Perhaps we should consider a petroleum blockade in response to Americas hunger for vengence and control over Iran....

As long as the bully calls the shots......

All that would be needed is to close our borders off to them like they're trying to do with Mexico, cut all trade and seek alternative trade elsewhere. Most of their imports come from either Canada or China anyways, and if they attack Iran, China's got their back, so they wouldn't be trading with the US anymore, and if we're not trading with them, and considdering the amount of their own internal food sources just went down the drain from that flooding, the US would be quickly crippled.

Of course that's when the US would start pointing nukes at everybody, threatening to fire them if they don't get what they want, all the while claiming to be the victims.

American foreign policy: The state of the world.

Under the tutelage of Israeli Zionists America has embarked on a pogrom of sanctions and embargoes in the effort to demonize Iran. While frustrating and metaphorically castrating the United Nations (U.N. resolutions compelling Saddam Hussein to disclosure of nuclear weapons program) and then using the politics of exaggeration and misdirection to legitimize an invasion of that country, the evidence for Iraqi culpability in both hiding stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction AND the presence of a viable nuclear weapons program….. BOTH proven false inaccurate and an entirely hollow and disingenuous ploy by American neo-cons, America remains hostage to its Israeli overseers.

While the strategy of arming the Mujahideen, ostensibly to deny Russian access to a pipeline corridor, resulted in fragmenting the people of Afghanistan (drug warlords and tribal counsels handed weapons) exacerbating an already serious situation in that nation and relying on the trumped up call to NATO that someone other than the fossil fuel cartels of America were at risk… installing a puppet regime in Kabul with a “president” (one time employee of Exxon) as its ostensible “leadership”…it now has been made apparent that it is in fact America that will gain access to and develop this very same corridor through Afghanistan.

Member nations in NATO have been manipulated by American multi-national cartels to regard the growing of poppy fields (infusing cash-flow based on drug profits to warlords and drug dealers) as appropriate while failing to call upon Pakistan to use its considerable influence and power (aided by America both financially and militarily since the military Junta of Mushariff took power) to deny terrorists an avenue of escape and re-supply.

If the example of embargoes and sanctions against a people (Iraq) guilty of nothing….can serve as an example of enlightened American foreign policy perhaps it’s time to apply this same strategy against a world power that demonstrates and has repeatedly demonstrated its preparedness to lie and misrepresent its “purposes”, by placing an embargo on the United States.

As George Bush calls for increased drilling in wilderness preserves to placate the oil cartels running things in Washington DC….maybe it’s time for America to experience an embargo and feel what its like to suffer. Unlike the sanctions and embargoes levied against Iran and Iraq, the United States is prima facie guilty of distorting the truth about its own agenda and citing false information and lies to further its agenda. The United States has behaved exactly as it accused Saddam Hussein and the government in Tehran of behaving. Lying to inspectors and hiding the actual intent behind its militarism and foreign policy.

We have watched as America has shredded the Geneva Conventions and practiced torture and kidnapping while fashioning itself as the holder of the “higher moral ground”.

America ought to be held as accountable as any other member nation of the community of man and yet, we have read and listened to members here at Canadian Content dismissing any and all culpability. Everyone else is guilty while America is the shining beacon of justice law and moral integrity.

Ron Paul Claims Pelosi Spiked Iran Bill

Wednesday, June 18, 2008 5:07 PM

By: Rick Pedraza
Representative Ron Paul says House Speaker Nancy Pelosi removed a section from a bill passed by Congress which would have barred the U.S. from going to war with Iran without a congressional vote, claiming she did so at the behest of the leadership of Israel and AIPAC.
Paul, a former Republican presidential contender who formally removed himself from the party’s nomination race last week, makes the allegation on C-SPAN during a recently held foreign policy conference in Virginia.
Paul says Pelosi’s first act as House Speaker in 2006 was to “deliberately” remove a portion of a legislative spending bill which said the United States “can't go to war with Iran without getting approval from Congress.”
According to Paul, Pelosi and her allies in the chamber's Democratic leadership initially accepted the bill designed to outline an Iraq exit strategy, but during a revision of the legislation excluded the statement regarding the need for congressional approval of any military assault on the neighboring country of Iran.
“She [Pelosi] removed it deliberately,” Paul says. “And then, the astounding thing is, when asked why, she said the leadership in Israel asked her to. That was in the newspaper, that was in 'The Washington Post,' that she was asked by AIPAC and others not to do that."
Paul implies Pelosi, desperate to advance her flawed spending legislation, bargained away the proposal that would have been the House leadership's primary vehicle for challenging the administration's policies in the region.
According to John Nichols, who covered the story about Pelosi’s capitulation at the time for “The Nation,” Pelosi was "under pressure from some conservative members of her caucus, and from lobbyists associated with neoconservative groups that want war with Iran, and the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).”
Paul's allegation is corroborated by 'The Asia Times', which in another article published at the time says AIPAC was strongly against attaching "a provision to a Pentagon spending bill that would require President Bush to get congressional approval before attacking Iran. AIPAC was strongly against it because it viewed the legislation as taking the military option 'off the table.' The provision was killed."
The article also cites Congressman Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, as saying [Pelosi's] decision was due to AIPAC.

Global Research should be renamed Global Bull****.

Aren't they the same bunch of silly souls that claim Bush is setting himself up as President for Life?

To take anything that bunch prints seriously is to prove you have a screw loose.

You'll notice Colpy the en masse cut and paste has begun to defer from the OP because they don't have a leg to stand on. GlobalResearch serves the meek quite well, even after having pointed out the resolution made no mention of a naval blockade.

But I admit, that had a cool pic of warships, ya know being American and all, I love war.

What double-talk and nonsense!

A gang of radical religious extremists committed a criminal act against the people of the United States. These people were not "under the flag" of any nation. This was not an act of war that would under other circumstances have brought the agreements and responsibilities as defined under NATO into play. No nation invaded America! A gang of cuthroats yes, the military of Afghanistan...NO! The government of Saudi Arabia...NO!

In a planned response to an admittedly foreseen possibility the moron in charge, one George W. Bush gave the American people exactly what they wanted...the pretense of retribution and revenge.

As already established by many authorities, the Bush administration had already laid plans as far back as 1991 to invade Iraq. Lacking a legitimate rationale, the hoax of a stockpile of weapons of mass destruction...and rumors of a nuclear weapons development program were inflated and expanded as "justification" for declaring Iraq a "threat" that Bush described as an urgent necessity"..... Hogwash....from front to back!

America goaded into acting by interests in Israel that regarded this opportunity to bring the military might of the United States into the fray directly.... The exposure of the "rationale" completely unsupported and demonstrated as the fantasy it was...it became necessary to inflate and expand the threat of world terrorism....and name Al Qeada and the Taliban as justification for the murder of thousands of Iraqi men women and children. Senate investigations have determined that neither Saddam Hussein NOR Al Qeada represented sufficient grounds for military action against Iraq.

Now that the United States has been sacrificed to the interests of the Israelis....rumors and innuendo supposedly implicating Iran as supplier of weapons and materiel...and perhaps man-power to the mess created by the United States in Iraq ...is now the cause cited by the morons in Washington DC once again doing the bidding of their Israeli masters.

And there's no American with even an iota of integrity participating at Canadian Content to admit that the scenario I've just outlined is the truth whereas the "argument" is couche in terms of "patriotism" and "nationalism" and every lame excuse but the truth.

America and Americans don't have the integrity or the courage to admit they've been used and manipulated and sacrificed their children to a "cause" predicated on lies and misdirection.

That's America for you.

Mikey, you are a broken record.

I am going to sum up all your posts in four bullets:

- The government will **** you, no matter what, even if you lack the foresight to plan your life.
- Jews are evil, invading war mongers
- The US is a commercialistic driven society without remorse for poor.
- Canada is a pawn to the US and is a lackey to the after mentioned commercialism.

That about does it, Mikey.
