How does vinyl siding stand up?

Anything plastic or vinyl shatters at around -50 celsius. Hence the lack of vinyl siding on any homes and you can see this if you cruise my photos.

I sit here watching CBC north and the crisis and I just have to shake my ****ing head, they want to move modular homes in?
Are they insane? One phone call to outlook in Winnipeg and I can have insulated octagon tents there and a crew there in 24 hours.
Bring the mod's up next summer.
Seems the govt. just wants to show their doing something when their not.
I know all the big expediters in that country, not one has been called yet.
So Ottawa will use buddys and friends to send supplies, lots of graft, and nothing will be solved.
I phoned a couple buds that are experts in supplying the arctic and anything north of Winnipeg and not one single one got a call for help.
You phone these guys if you want anything, they will make it happen so if modular homes are coming then I can only say we should see if the person building them has ties with the governmeny because this stinks to high heaven.

Oh, Great Spirit, whose voice I hear in the winds.
And whose breath gives life to all the world.
Hear me! I am small and weak.
I need your strength and wisdom.
Let me walk in beauty, and make my eyes
... Ever hold the red and purple sunset.
Make my hands respect the things you have made.
My ears sharp to hear your voice.
Make me wise so that I may understand
The things you might teach me.
Let me learn the lessons you have hidden
In every leaf and rock.
I seek strength, not to be greater than my brother.
But to fight my greatest enemy, myself.
Make me always ready to come to you
With clear hands and straight eyes.
So when life fades, as the fading sunset.
My spirit may come to you without shame.

What do they heat these tents with? Wood, propane?

Heres the old style(I lived in this at -80 celsius, not warm)

Baker lake airport.

Pic speaks for itself.

Heres the fuel setup for this tent, this was -80celsius with windchill and we piled snow around the tents because it was so cold.

This is one way they move fuel to communitys, camps and to empty all the fuel barges that freeze in every year on hudsons bay.

Heres a new style outlook tent, they are mucho warmer then the old canvass prospector tents.

Heres my shack when I was north of Rankin, this was like a mansion!
