Electronic billboards in Michigan denouncing gay marriage are "the last gasp of the bigots," a lawyer says.
"They cannot accept that same-sex marriage could be legal soon everywhere. They just want attention. And the way they get attention is through their bigotry and their hate and their cruelty," Dana Nessel told the Detroit Free Press.
One electronic billboard carries this message: "Homosexuality is a behavior. Not a civil right." It also shows two photos, one of an African-American man that reads: Born Black. The other is a face covered in rainbow coloUrs. It reads: "Not born this way."
According to the website, restrainthejudges.com, the billboard campaign is about preserving traditional marriage.
It also urges Americans to mail a personalized restraining order to the Supreme Court and all members of Congress.
The campaign is sponsored by several conservative groups including Americans for Truth About Homosexuality.

So if the Asian had a choice in the race she was born to it would be ok to discriminate against her? That is kind of what the billboard is implying. Born that way or given a choice shouldnt make a difference. Live and let live.

This is no different than what some atheist groups do when it comes to Christians.

Christians by and large spread the venom of the issue, but Gerry is right the same
can be said for those anti Christian. Kind of funny how those claiming to be
discriminated against can't wait to discriminate against someone else and justify it

Oddly, the Bill of Rights protects religious liberty, despite the fact that people can, and do, change their religions every day.

They feel desperate.

The boogie man is at the door. Imagine being that insecure that the actions of a few could threaten your beliefs that much.

True. Except the atheists aren't threatened by this. We are already the underdog because "Organized Religion" has preference. Like even the most progressive mayor in Canada is still thinking he can impose religion in public administration. Really, religious people should see the benefit in living in a secular society. It means they are free to do as they please. They just can't tell everyone else to do as they do. Atheists are good with that. Forbid gays from attending your institutions. Forbid gays from marring in you institutions. Atheists don't care what you do in your bible driven, 'god fearing' clubs. Just leave the rest of society alone to live in peace.

Homosexuals are fine, but they shouldn't be able to vote.

Really? I hope that's sarcasm.

He was trying to be funny but he can't see the target.

Duh!

Yup, kinda like the atheists that feel the need to plaster "God is dead" all over billboards and the sides of buses.

Bullshyte. The "atheists" are threatened. If they weren't, we wouldn't have them bitching and whining so much about prayers, Christmas trees, "in God we trust", or any other "religious" thing.

I thought Nenshi was the most "progressive" mayor in Canada and he just stopped the opening prayer for council meetings. Not sure why, unless of course some atheist felt threatened by it.

Actually, they do care what Christians do in their "clubs". Christians that own their own businesses are not allowed to decide who they can and can't serve. Atheists have made sure of that. Atheists are trying to make it so that if a Church will not preform SSM then they should not be allowed to preform any marriage. Christians and their institutions are NOT allowed to decide what can and can't happen in their respective institutions. They can't decide what they will and will not pay for. Atheists have made sure of that. While Atheists can say and do as they please, Christians must be muzzled in any way possible.

America is post-constitutional. The presidency has become the office of a strong man who makes up the rules as he goes along. That's called Caesarism. Caesarism causes people to be afraid. Gays may be few, but they are part of a political coalition that thinks its on a mission to transform America into something new. Their like a kid with a new chemistry set trying to invent frankenstein.

Homo milk is 3% fat and Jesus was a Jew but you'll never see that on a billboard...

Homo milk. I like that. :)

Walter,

Why do you give out reds?
