And here they are folks... The Prince and Princess of Canada!

South park got to them already eh?

Cool !!! Even if they are figureheads and little more ........ they represent links with history and that kind of tradition can be important.

Nice photo . (are you a pro ?? )
Thanks. No pro just a hobby. I'll have to scan my Charles photos some day. That was a total freak out. Out of all the people in the crowd Charles walked straight up to me and my brother and just started to gab. Nice guy.

they are being received by hundreds of thousands and that will continue throughout their visit,
it is obvious that the majority like and respect them, and love the tradition of the royal family,
and are being very good hosts, and can see that these two are a great young couple who have come here
to be open and gracious.

I like them, I wish them well, I hope they enjoy our country and continue to be treated with respect,
and leave here wanting to return in the future.

Williams mother, Diana was a very human person, always concerned with the unfortunate of the world,
and made it very clear that she wanted to help and bring those problems forward, and do something
about it.

William and Kate will continue 'her' journey as they go thru life, as they are also very human and
understanding of others, just down to earth good people, and we are lucky to be part of their
thoughts, and be included in their choices of a destination, when they travel.

Good luck to them.

"And here come the Princess.. led by the Bishop of Newfoundland... as is tradition... and the people are throwing out Capn' Crunch before them... as is tradition... there they go, taking their place in front of the vat of butterscotch pudding... the Prince places his hands into the pudding... now he is rubbing it on the Princess."

Hilarious!

I was in stitches.

Scot the Dick takes a lead roll when the Princess is captured.

"To all Canadians.. please open your emergency boxes... unless you were a dick and already opened them... you will find a sandwich... you may eat your sandwich now."

Stop your FCC people from insisting on editing the swear words and things would be fine. They are on the tube but no streaming.

Is that what this is? An FCC thing? They are insufferable.

"There is the Winnipeg Pipe and Drums... playing the March of a Thousand Farts...... as is tradition.... there is Canadians Bryan Adams and Corey Hart... showing up for this festive day..... oh and there is Terence and Phillips... escorting the Queef sisters <phhhhftttt>"

Queef sisters.....that's what I call my sister in-laws. Ohhhh my sides they hurt. They still hurt from yelling "la migra la migra" at group of latinos climbing the bridge after the fireworks tonight and laughing after they started to run.

5 more minutes and I'll be watching that episode.

Yeah it's FCC.

WTF? Square tires?

What a glorius day for Canada and thus the World!

Good socialist thinking. We all pay so a few can benefit.

That is how economies are helped during hard times. When the government decides it has to stimulate the economy and they pump millions of dollars etc into something like road construction, do you think it "DIRECTLY" impacts everyone? No...it they are building roads in Ontario or BC or Quebec for example, it doesnt "directly" affect the other provinces.

But indirectly, many businesses could benefit in the other provinces by these construction firms purchasing extra products and services that come from these other provinces. For example....You dont have to be the coffeeshop owner to be the only one to benefit when more people buy a cup of coffee....more coffee sold means more beans bought (hence more $$ for the farmer and possibly more employees), more transported (more work for the truck driver and possibly more employees), more gas for the truck (more output for the oil and gas industry and again possibly more employees), more packaging (more jobs for light commercial manufacturing and yet again possibly more employees) and maybe increased staff at the coffeshop.....

Do you get it yet?????? It might SEEM like it is a few that benefit, but actually it can benefit the country as a whole....

Cheers for the 2011 Royal Tour

I have nothing but cheers for this year's Royal Tour.

The throngs of Canadians who have come to every event that His Royal Highness The Duke of Cambridge K.G., and Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge have attended, is a very positive sign for the future of our current constitutional arrangements. I think that this royal couple may have what it takes to rejuvenate support for constitutional monarchy, and to bring the institution into the twenty-first century in a way that makes it modern and practical, but still holding onto the rich fabric of history that Canada, and fifteen other Commonwealth Realms, enjoy.

I have watched a good deal of the Royal Tour on CPAC, and have been absolutely stunned by the skill and class with which Their Royal Highnesses have been interacting with Canadians. It seems to be a very "new" style of royalty, and I think that this is something that not only Canadians, but every Commonwealth citizen can engage with.

I would like to get rid of the monarchy anyway since it is rather embarrassing to have a foreigner as head of our country.

On this matter I have to differ. We're a small world now and we have to reach out beyond our borders. Since we are not producing many offspring of our own we have to "shop" overseas for talent and people like Bill and Katie are good at spreading the word. I believe financially there is a net gain as they get people out of the house and you know every time you leave the house you spend money. They will do us more good than harm. When you have idiots of Trudeau and Mulroney's ilk heading the country maybe it is time to look elsewhere for a leader.
