It's not ethical for Asian countries to get Canadian oil through southern US ports as well as Pacific and Atlantic ports?

If your thoughts limit oil as just energy, here is something to educate you in away you might easily understand:

My thoughts are on the topic.

Your thoughts are on polymer porn.

Quite the opposite actually, you obtain ethical oil in new age shops that cater to the eco-sensitive crowd.

What you're thinking of in terms of the blacked-out windows is that 'dirty oil' that we produce up here..... In fact, we have separate refineries that deal exclusively with 'clean' ethical oil and other ones that work only with the dirty stuff

How about those blood diamonds MF?... You are desperately trying to evade the orig question.

PS - It was Levant that made the connection to ethical oil, not Harper.

Harper picked up on the idea and used it as a political argument.

Harper's embrace of 'ethical' oil sands reignites 'dirty' arguments - The Globe and Mail

I guess Harper was wrong as the administration now just wants to transport oil to any third party as long as it's done safely.

If I was Levant, I would be criticizing the government right about now.

The longer he waits, the more he exposes himself as a phony.

Big bucks were invested in TX and LA to upgrade and process petro chemicals with Canadian Heavy. Now they'll have to import from the Orinoco River. The Keystone alone can't supply what the KXL was to supply.

How are the ethics of Venezuela these days?

Perfect for any one left of Harper.

Perhaps you missed the point where giving up on this completely contradicts Harper's divine moral doctrine of ethical oil.

And not a peep from Colpy's torchbearer of freedom and all around übermensch, Ezra Levant.

Our oil IS ethical. Who buys it is irrelevant as long as they have cash.

Left of Mao is more like it.

Heard on the radio the other day that the Venezuelans are rioting/demonstrating all throughout the country right now.

Looks like another failed socialist experiment has come to it's logical conclusion

I'm still waiting to see an example of 'clean' oil

They all do sooner or later. Must be that combination of greed and lack of ambition that does them in.

... That and mandated mediocrity

That is where the lack of ambition come in. No one wants to do the heavy lifting.
You should see the twisted slant in an article in my union rag as to who generates the money to keep the economy rolling. In their view it is the labourer that is doing the work , not the investors that put up the money and take all the risks. Bout made me puke.

I don't have one.

Oh that's why Harper is putting sanctions on Russia.

Anyway, here's more evidence that Levant should speak up if he had some stones...

It’s a curious twist. Many Canadians — me included — agree with one part of Ezra Levant’s ethical oil argument: oil should be evaluated by its environmental impact as well as its effect on the respect for human rights and international stability.

But where does it leave the government’s case for ethical oil if Canadians are sidelined in the decision-making process to please a country both Levant and the Prime Minister have accused of human rights violations? Indeed, on his show The Source, Levant is often critical of China, hosting discussions on how “the freedoms of its people are still on the decline” and labelling the country a “dictatorship.”

Makes you wonder why the 'I hate gubmint' people evangelize this guy.
