Experts: Health Hazards in Gulf Warrant Evacuations

Tuesday, 27 July 2010 09:14

'For the past two months, she's been traveling back and forth between Louisiana and Florida to gather information about what's really happening and share the lessons she learned about long-term illnesses and deaths of cleanup workers and residents. In late May, she began meeting people in the Gulf with symptoms like headaches, dizziness, sore throats, burning eyes, rashes and blisters that are so deep, they're leaving scars. People are asking, "What's happening to me?"
She says the culprit is almost two million gallons of Corexit, the dispersant BP is using to break up and hide the oil below the ocean's surface. "It's an industrial solvent. It's a degreaser. It's chewing up boat engines off-shore. It's chewing up dive gear on-shore. Of course it's chewing up people's skin. The doctors are saying the solvents are making the oil worse".'

The US Coast Guard dispatched emergency teams Tuesday after a boat crashed into an oil well off the coast of New Orleans, reportedly sending crude spewing some 20 feet into the air.
The wellhead, located about 65 miles (104 kilometers) south of New Orleans, was ruptured when it was struck by a dredge barge being pulled by a tug.

The Gulf beaches are open and no one that I know of is evacuating the region. Tropical storm Bonnie pretty much dispersed the oil. They are cleaning up the oil that actually came ashore and are pretty much done except for the marshlands that will take a while. Big mystery is what happened to those bubbles of oil that were on the bottom?

It will be interesting to see what happens over time. This was such a massive release of oil, it's not really comparable to anything else. But nature can deal with some things, so I'm sure that environmental scientists will make careers out of studying the Gulf, and that's a good thing.

I also see that BP is planning to sell off some assets to pay for the costs of this disaster.

BP Has Two Different Oil Wells Spewing Underwater

Tags: GULF OIL DISASTER
So there it is in black and white next to living color. BP are lying. Ms. Williams either lied or was given false information to send me in order to attempt to throw me off track. Two wells, two distinct locations, twin wellheads and all the other equipment. And still the video from the Skandi subs are showing Well A on your network and cable news, but you clearly see a well at location B also spewing oil in the Youtube video.

It's not over folks. It will take years to clean out of their systems, so much for thinking it all went away.

Crabs provide evidence oil tainting Gulf food web
BARATARIA, La. – To assess how heavy a blow the BP oil spill has dealt the Gulf of Mexico, researchers are closely watching a staple of the seafood industry and primary indicator of the ecosystem's health: the blue crab.
Weeks ago, before engineers pumped in mud and cement to plug the gusher, scientists began finding specks of oil in crab larvae plucked from waters across the Gulf coast.
The government said last week that three-quarters of the spilled oil has been removed or naturally dissipated from the water. But the crab larvae discovery was an ominous sign that crude had already infiltrated the Gulf's vast food web — and could affect it for years to come.

Breaking Gulf news: Land Surveyor proves Simmons right. TV well sham.

In a series of four short videos (below), the unidentified land surveyor presents official BP public documents that he downloaded, compared to "live coverage" revealing the TV illusion. He explains in layman's terms what has transpired using BP surveyor maps and documents.
According to the public documents, not only are there the two wells Matt Simmons has insisted exist. The documents also reveal that the plan since the beginning of the operation has been to abandon both wells.
Simmons stated in July, "There is no way BP would not know they were misleading everyone," and, "They would have to be deaf, dumb, and blind and they're not. These are smart guys."

Unknown disease killing off Florida’s state tree

Tags: SCIENCE/HEALTH/CLIMATE/NATURE
An unknown but growing number of sabal palms in the Tampa Bay area have died from a mysterious disease that researchers are struggling to identify. Even after scientists pinpoint the disease — and that could take years — they will have to learn what insect spreads it. The disease will be tough to stop.

Webmaster's Commentary:
"Yeah, yeah... sure, sure... a disease. yeah, that's it; a disease! Sure, sure. Pay no attention to those oil and Corexit contaminants that have been raining down out of the sky across Florida for the last three months. Your future funding depends on your looking for a disease to explain why everything is dying off. Disease, disease, disease!"

BP Oil Spill: Clean-Up Crews Can't Find Crude in the Gulf

For 86 days, oil spewed into the Gulf of Mexico from BP's damaged well, dumping some 200 million gallons of crude into sensitive ecosystems. BP and the federal government have amassed an army to clean the oil up, but there's one problem -- they're having trouble finding it.
