"They would have been taken to a ‘Christian’ orphanage and brought up to be good little Fundamentalist Christians, with the same hatreds, biases and prejudices of the religious right, and a loyal voting block of the Republican Party."....

A fate worse, than if left alone in Haiti, in my opinion.

A standard imperial plan was to heist children educate them in the imperial way and reinsert them back into the host country where they would further co-opt that host nation.
Double agents, fifth columnists, moles and open collaborators. You've already seen it with all the other warred upon nations.

If again, interfering with the judicial system and laws of another country in this manner is ok with you, then fine. The kidnappers were charged with committing a crime. Why not allow justice to run it`s course? Pleading ignorance (especially after numerous warnings) is no reason the crime should be over-looked because of the criminal`s nationality, imo.

What if they hadn`t been caught in the act and were successful in displacing the children without permission of the Haiti gov....would that have made the crime less offensive?

And what is wrong with that?

Stealing children used to be a hanging offense. I guess their not worth as much these days.
5-15 sentence in a Hatian jail would be worse than hanging.

2100+ Kids go missing daily in the US of A, over 80,000 year.

How many do you think are sold and how many are used in rituals?

Keep in mind 1% is still 21 kids per day.

In my honest opinion that is far far more devistating they ANY terror attack and yet very little is done.

Why?

I would be very suspicious about what religious fanatics were planning on doing to little kids even if they are not catholics.

What judicial system? Don’t confuse our judicial system with that of a third world, dirt poor country like Haiti. In many third world countries, the standard of proof is very much different from us; it is a totally different judicial system.

And trying to get the release of prisoners by bribing (or giving a donation to the relief effort) forms part of the justice system over there.

Since Clinton will be dealing with Haitian government, there is no way he can do anything illegal and get away with it. Presumably in Haiti, what the government does is legal.

Indeed, that is how things are usually done in third world countries. Islam even officially sanctions it. In Islam, if a man commits a murder, he has the option of making a payment to the relatives (male relatives, of course). If the relatives consider the payment sufficient compensation, then the man is not charged with murder.

So if Clinton bribes the Haitian government (as you claim), it won’t be anything out of ordinary.

They probably meant to brain wash them into the (extreme) religious right philosophy, taxslave. However, that probably was better than what awaited them in Haiti as orphans.

What ever judicial system exists in Haiti is Haiti`s...not `ours` nor anyone elses. We must respect that. Those Americans left the United States (with a judicial system mostly balanced on ones ability of buying your way out of a crime by it`s citizens) and entered thier country with sole intentions on breaking thier laws ie taking children without permission.
That is a crime in most civilized person`s eyes, no matter what country on earth.

If indeed the US is able to buy/bribe justice for these criminals through monitory means from this desparate poor country says very little about thier own morals, let alone the Haiti gov`s. All the more reason the world has, to dispise the US and it`s hypocritical actions, don`t you think?

Why on earth would a non-christian or jew country have a judicial system?

That is how things are done in third world countries, JBeee. There is no such thing as a fair trial; our rules of evidence do not apply there. Somebody who would be found not guilty in our system would very likely be found guilty in places like Haiti (based upon the same evidence).

On the other hand, there is the possibility of bribery, or of buying one’s way out, which does not exist in our system. They showed on TV, same thing happened in Chad a while ago. A French citizen was convicted of some crime. But Chad is dependent upon French aid, so the president of Chad pardoned him and sent him back to France.

If Clinton does indeed buy justice here (and we don’t know that for sure), it won’t be any different.
