I've only said that the armchair quarterbacking is laughable and raised the notion that some should put themselves in the same situation.

But isn't that what we are ALL doing here? Commenting on world affairs from the comfort of our chairs?

In a sense you are right Twila. I am referring to the lack objectivity when it comes to a situation like this. These Officers were chasing an individual who took them on a high speed chase which involved one of their officers being hit and a number of civilians being put a risk. When put into a situation like this there is a high level of adrenaline pulsing through each individuals veins.

What I find most troublesome is the automatic condemnation with lack of objectivity. Should these cops have hit this idiot after he was ejected from his vehicle? No, but the moral superiority of those not in this situation is laughable. The reaction of Cannuck is predictable.

Because in situations like the one on the video normal folks are apt to do all sorts of things, including beating on an unconscious person who just ran down one of their friends..

Their version: Young teenager unarmed mercilessly shot down by police. Apparently he was supposed to go to college.

The truth: He was a thug, weighed over 300 lbs and attacked the police officer. Prior to this he robbed a convenience store.

Funny how the mass media has moved on now that it is under investigation.

I won't bother with video of Michael Brown shoving the little Filipino store owner around...

Check out the local police video.

You know what I see. I see a 24 hour news cycle that sensationalizes everything because they are dependent on high ratings to attract advertisers. I see gullible people who cohere into a mob mentality without having all the facts.

Why just the other day CNN was crying like chicken little that USA might have had an international incident with Cuba because it was escorting a plane that was not responding. Police put on riot gear when entering a riot zone so they must be militarized.

Then there's the idiots (who have no experience with firearms) who cry, "They should have shot him in the leg!" The of course are the same folks who would complain if that bullet ricocheted and killed an innocent bystander."

Do acts of Police Brutality occur? Yes. Is it an epidemic of militarization and thuggery? Nope.

But it's really pointless to ask anyone to take an objective look when their mind is already made up and the idiot box told them so.

You have a problem with objectivity, I've said nothing in this thread supporting the actions of these police officers, I've only said that the armchair quarterbacking is laughable and raised the notion that some should put themselves in the same situation.

You have constantly whined about cops, which isn't really a surprise.
"I would have done worse" isn't justifying them?

I would have, but that is if involved a friend of mine or a family member.

Someone runs down a family member of yours and you'd be all TJ Hooker right?

Just give them a stern look and say, "Book em."

I don't watch television, so I really have no idea what you're talking about.

I'd like to think I'd behave professionally while I was on the job. I did so when I was in uniform.

Don't think I missed the "runs down a family member." The cop who was "run down" wasn't a family member of any of the cops who did the beating. But you go right ahead on and make up whatever facts you need to, mmm-kay?

LOL!

I'll explain this, because obviously you don't get out much, let alone into any courtroom.

All Cops consider themselves to be in a fraternity.

It kind of explains the masses of officers from around the continent that show up at a fallen officers funeral.

But hey, you go on with your big bad self, lolz.

Sorry Sparky. You bought the other thread to this thread so what you said in that thread is relevant to this thread. suckl it up.

Oh you're still a cop-hater. That's confirmed.

I met a guy like you the other day complaining about the RCMP, how every time he got pulled over he was harassed and I thought: I wonder why that is?

Elemental my dear Cannuck. You get what you give.

Don't be silly. I've never even implied that I'm harassed every time I'm pulled over. Look, I get you have a uniform fetish but you really shouldn't confuse "not being impressed with a uniform" with "hating" people. There is a difference despite your limited ability to see the difference.

You only think this way because you don't know how to think analytically. I've been to lots of fire calls where adrenaline is freely flowing. It's not an excuse to act like an idiot....well, maybe in your case. I'm certainly glad I didn't serve with you. Losing your head because of an adrenaline rush is not a good thing

Must be tough having such a big chip on your shoulder. You should seek help for that.

Garbage men get adrenaline rushes? Is that from looking at other peoples mail?

I'm glad you didn't serve with me too.

Garbage men don't carry guns. You should be embarrassed that I have to point these simple things out to you.
