Re: Is it wrong to call or name a person or persons colored

history has bloody nothing to do with the present use of that bloody word Colored

Please make comments re this derogatory term,as for me i think that it is, and should be erased from the history books
Clearly you are confused and short of memory. Your OP - PS how many History books have you read, 1?

Erasing things from history books defeats the idea of history books, does it not?
Erasing things from history books just seems so wrong. How does one learn from
history if it's constatly being revised?

If you are going to rewrite them though, ship me the old ones. I'll burn them out in
the backyard in a regulation enclosed firepit. Is that as politicaly correct as it is
good for the enviroment?

Can we burn Bibles and other misc religious texts next? Just ask'n.....

those mentioned items are there, but the naming of people is an ongoing issue, and not only recorede history,so you are very wrong and your comment is out of contexet with regard to the issue or subject matter being debated

So if it's ongoing then don't use the word now...there's no need to change the words of the past. Use whatever you like now. It won't ease the pain and suffering inflicted. There's no value in changing historical documents.

The holocaust was atrocious. Covering up what happened wouldn't help.

Considering all the terms we had for anyone not white and speaking good english growing up in the 50s & 60s being called colored ain't too bad.
BTW do you know what DP stands for?

I was told by an immigrant that it stood for delayed pioneer. Not what I recall growing up.

I'm going to start a petition to have the holocaust known forevermore as the Happy Hebrew Happenin'.

I'm not so sure about that word "happy" being included in the revision, as the
words "gay" and "queer" where both socially acceptable terms that took on
new inferences over time, and I can see that happening with "happy"....as
in "happy endings."

You just can't be too careful. I'd hate for that revised history book to end up
in my firepit, 'cuz somebody's going to have to pay for the shipping.

Ok with that but what about a gay couple who are unhappy.

Now you're just confusing me. My head's starting to hurt. I'd go burn some books
'till it makes more sence....but it's raining out there.

Can we burn some libraries and museums next? They've just got to have some
objectionable stuff in there that someone will have an issue with!
