do you have the money you owe me?
Do you worship the money?
Then Who gave you the money, and enriched you after you were poor; and who gave you power and you were weak, and secured you after being afraid, and healed you after being ill and clothed you ...etc ?
It is narrated that one of the prophets, it may be he was Joseph son of Jacob; he asked God (this is only narration, not in the Quran); he asked God: God, by the rights of my fathers with you, give me so and so. (his fathers were prophets: Jacob, Isaac and Abraham)
Then God revealed to him in the night dream: What rights have your fathers on me? Weren't they naked and I clothed them, hungry and I fed them, ignorant and I acquainted them, poor and I enriched them, ill and I cured them ...etc?
Therefore the right is due to God alone.
And this is in the Quran
93: 6-11 addressing his apostle Mohammed:
أَلَمْ يَجِدْكَ يَتِيمًا فَآوَى . وَوَجَدَكَ ضَالًّا فَهَدَى . وَوَجَدَكَ عَائِلًا فَأَغْنَى . فَأَمَّا الْيَتِيمَ فَلَا تَقْهَرْ . وَأَمَّا السَّائِلَ فَلَا تَنْهَرْ . وَأَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ
The explanation:
(Did He not find you an orphan, and give you shelter [to your grandfather, then to your uncle]?
Did He not find you erring [from the religion], and guide you [by inspiration and revelation]?
Did He not find you destitute with a family, and enrich you [by trading and by the wealth of your wife Khadieja]?
Therefore, as for the orphan: oppress him not.
As for the beggar: scold him not.
And as for your Lord's favor [on you: your message]: 'rehearse and proclaim' it [to people.])
