which its now believed will eat most of the food output productivity of the growing country.
In fact China is preparing for the future. they are buying up farmland outside of China for the
food production they will need in the future. The Chinese have now set aside 178 billion dollars
to buy property, farmland in other parts of the world to secure a food supply for future needs.
The nations of the world should be aware that if countries like Canada could face food shortages
if China implemented such a food policy. At present, China is buying tracts of land in such
countries as Brazil and other parts of South America, its only a matter of time before the rich
farmland of Canada is on their radar.
This tells two stories and this is my point. At the moment China has made great strides in the
production of food, we thought they would flood the market with cheap food however the middle
class in China is consuming more than originally thought. So even though they produce more
food than ever before, they will eventually run short of dependable supply therefore they are a
long way yet from supplying all the food they will need in the near future.
