According to Forbes Canada is one of the top 10 healthiest Countries in the world ( Ranking 8th )..

Do you think Canada is that healthy and if so why or why not ?

Forbes.com has found that the region is home to some of the world's healthiest countries, including top-ranking Iceland, Sweden and Finland.

Others that fared well include Germany, Switzerland, Australia, Denmark, Canada, Austria and the Netherlands.

Does that surprise you and does the lack of other countries also surprise you. Who would you have expected to make the list ?

Do you remember those old Health Canada commercials showing the 60-year old Swede in better shape than the 30 or 40 year old Canadian? We still can't catch that guy.

Yes but it still amazes me how little we appreciate our nations health and pride in ourselves..

Mind you the Swedes are perhaps in better health but have a higher Suicide rate.. Hence they die in better shape :)

Suicide Canada 17.3% , Sweden 19.5%

America ranked 11th.

Walking through the airports of this great country, I think that ranking must surely be too high.

Especially if you have been through the airport at Jackson, Miss. recently (or for that matter, most of the Southern States)

Ham gravy anyone?

To fat for an MRI

"The average CT is of no use for people who weigh more than 450 pounds, and most MRIs can't handle people who weigh more than 350 pounds. With both machines, the table that carries the patient into a small tunnel, or bore, where the images are taken can't support the weight. In some cases, the bore is too small.

the dental and healthcare systems are MUCH better than those in the UK, that's for sure. And much fairer and less stupid than those in the US
