Not a good day for Italy.
They scored to their own. And minute later one of their got red card.

England are either 2nd or 3rfd favourites for the Cup, after the Brazilians and the Argies, but we can discount those two because only once has an South American team won the World Cup in Europe.
And England aren't scared of Argentina. We have beaten them on our last two meetings. We beat them 1-0 in the 2002 World Cup (Argentina didn't even get past the Group Stage) and we beat them 3-2 in a friendly in Switzerland in November.

Do you have any idea how excited the whole of Australia is for this game tonight?!?!
I dont think anybody expects us to take any points from it but very interested to see how we fair up aginsst the number 1 ranked country! Should be a good one! I just hope its not too embarassing for us!

It looks as thought USA might have a chance to advance. They will advance if. They beat Ghana and Italy beats Czech Repuclic, there might be other combinations which will mean USA will advance but this is the most obvious. Italy will have to win in order to advance and in order to get the first place so that they do not have to face Brazil, so they will probaly beat Czech Repuclic whom are missing their two best strikers. I believe that USA can beat Ghana but it is going to be tought Ghana looked really good against the Czech Republic, so.

Yes Australia was a bit unfortunate.
But firstly, when you state something like that, please make aware of the fact that it is your opinion and that is not fact.
I do not think that you are right, but I do not mean that they will win the chance, I just say that to me they are still the biggest favorites to go all the way.

I dunno man, Brazil won today, by two goals..but the score sheet doesn't really indicate how crappy they played. The need to figure something out or they will not win.
And for the love of all things, can someone tell South American teams that they do not need to roll around like they are dying every time an opposing team comes anywhere near the football? Is this official strategy? Everytime someone comes near ya, you take a fall and roll around? How about playing the game with skill, not theatrics. K..im off my soap box now. But seriously, you do not see this kind of play tactic in any other game, unless its an Southern American team. Shameful.

The yanks are by far not the worse fans, but they were by far the most understandably justifiably upset fans.
If this had happened to England Blackleaf, you would have posted an entire seperate thread and ranted on for years.
