Well, except for the part that he and his parents are Canadian born and raised and his parents have been paying taxes here all their lives. Are you saying there should be no difference between Canadians and foreigners?
Why do you hate this country so much and have so little respect for it?
Hmmm... Then I'll try to understand it another way if I may:
"Well, except for the part that he and his parents are earth-born and raised and his parents have been paying taxes on this earth all their lives."
Now to answer your question. Though I do not profess the Christian Faith, I have read the Bible which has much influenced English literature and culture. Consider this from Matthew 5:
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
You'll notice it does not say "ye are the light of Canada," but "the light of the world."
Speaking of culture, read the beatitudes, the Lord's prayer, and the story of the good Samaritan, and notice how none of them make any distinction between Jews and gentiles (or should I say Canadians and foreigners?).
Now as for my 'hate' for Canada, let's consider this. Whether I'm in Canada or abroad, I don't litter the streets, I show kindness towards people, and I make friends. Are you saying that by treating all people the same regardless of nationality, race, creed, sex, or any other such distinction rather than make a distinction by reserving my kindness for Canadians only proves my hate for Canada? If so, then according to that definition, yes, I hate Canada because I refuse to mistreat a person just because of the nationality stamped on his passport.
I just got a reddie. At first I thought it came from Walter, but no, it came form Durry. Hi Durry!
