Dumbest idea I ever saw: a battery access in a wheel well....

Yup, I know some model years of the Chrysler Sirrus had to have the front bumper and quarter panel removed to replace the battery. It's no wonder Chrysler has a bad name.

My Sienna has 325,000+ kilometers on it. No sign of breaking down.

If I were to buy a new vehicle, it would be strictly for reasons of 'keeping uip with the Jones'".

My non-union built Sienna will last for heaven knows how much longer. Nobody could say the same about a similar Chrysler product.

When Chrysler starts producing vehicles WITHOUT union labour, I will consider buying a Chrysler product.

To be fair, also GM and/or Ford.

why do people hate unions so much? Do they produce a lower quality of work then the non union guys?

As a Union employee for close to 30 years I may be able to provide some of the answers.
1. They are not interested in working efficiently.
2. The only yardstick of an employees worth they are interested in is seniority.
3. They don't seem interested in looking after the employer's interests (you don't chop off the hand that feeds you)
4. Too much involvement in issues like pay, employer not able to use his discretion in paying an employee what he thinks he's worth
5. Puts forth too much effort in protecting the unproductive employees and the troublemakers.

I think Unions have a role to play and that is being vigilant on safety issues.
