Greed. Either the provincial gov't or the merchants. Or both.
And never go grocery shopping when you are hungry. lmao
Could be a carry over from the old days when B.C. traditionally had the highest wages across Canada.
We are able to buy most everything directly from the source.
The gov't only gets in the way when you leave a paper trail....cash only please. ;-)
Out here we have chickens for meat or fresh eggs. Emu, beef, turkey, chicken, sheep, etc....all at the farmers market. Fresh baking as well, of course.
The First Nations sell fresh fish when in season for a reasonable price. I would never buy fish in a grocery store...ewwww
No/not much snow is southern Okanagan or the Island, then.I checked, also too much & it looks like there is snow there, right? I was trying for no snow

Yup. That's best. Tastiest, too.plant some seeds and start growing our own...
PayScale Canada - British Columbia State Salary, Average SalariesSo what is the min. wage in BC & did the average salary decrease? It sounds like you are saying that it did.
Did cost of living decrease too, or go up or stay the same?
Thanks

Our Safeway is a great place to hit on the first Tuesday of the month. Take your pick of customer appreciation day goodies of either bonus air miles or 10% off. We load up on Kicking Horse coffee, Earl/Lady Grey tea, certain paper supplies, some seafood, dishsoap, etc.
We like 454 and Grizzly. Usually grab the 10% off thing. Living in the Kootenays kinda spoiled us. Don't want to travel. Got a fondue set last time we used air miles. lol

LOL! You're funny!:lol:B/c one of the rentals had a pic of the house & there was definitely snow there.
Maybe it was a scam.

I am an hour away from Nanaimo. I'm like you and won't travel to buy food. We have the usual places....Safeway, Wal-mart, Quality Foods (locally owned), Fairway (again, a local chain), Extra Foods, and Zellers. Thanks for this.
So where in BC are these farms located.
Since I'm still researching where to live, I want a town that is near these farms.
I wouldn't travel an hour just to buy food, that's just too much.
Thanks
